Three months later, we were on a plane back to Britain..

As usual our in-laws made all the necessary arrangements to secure all the documents that would enable us to work without problems in Britain..

Cynthia had a lucrative job at the Nigeria Commercial Branch in London while I got employed in a private computer making company..

Both of us earned enough to make us comfortable In Nigeria for a long time to come. We bought a house in Banbury in London and sent some money home for a house to be built for our use when we returned home in Nigeria..

Cynthia had her first baby in our second year
in England.. We christened him Charles Ato Dike… Our child brought more meaning into our lives as he became a stronger uniting force in our marriage…

We also opened our doors to needy Nigerians in London..

We helped some to get jobs and other were helped to come back to Nigeria when we found that there was nothing else we could do to help them there..

We became popular and famous in the city of London as a result.. Cynthia was very helpful to the black girls from Africa who had turned to prostitution because they had nothing to do in the foreign land…

She opened shops into which she employed many of them.

Every Sunday, we spent the wlode day at the Atos.. We shared their experiences and benefited a lot from their advice on life in London.. They were also full of praise for us for our help to our less fortunate countrymen..

Our second child who was a girl was born when Charles was five years old.. She was named after my mother..

We did not forget about our parents as we kept in touch with them through letters..

We sent them packages anytime we felt it necessary and both of our parents were appreciative..

Fifteen years after flying into London for the second time, we decided to come down to Nigeria for a little break.. We wrote to our loved ones in Nigeria to inform them of our intention.. We took our annual leaves at the same time..

Our homecoming was emotional as a lot of Nigerians in London who had one way or the other benefited from us came to see us off…
It was when we arrived home that something interesting happen…
