KOLA: Ok ma, I promise not to skip my meal for tonight. So when are we going to see so we could discuss this “long story of yours that can be not be discuss on the phone”?

RITA: When the time is right kola

KOLA: I like the way you call my name, it sounds nice and heart catching. Come to think of it what tribe are you?

RITA: I’m from Kogi state (lgala by tribe).

KOLA: Wow! Kogi people and Yoruba people are almost alike and we share almost the same words. So can you speak yoruba?

RITA: What do you expect from someone who has spent most of her years on the street of Lagos. Oh yes I can speak.

KOLA: Hmm, Rita can we hook up tomorrow at my place but if my place is not comforting for you, we could use the park close to NY house.

RITA: I’m not sure if I can make it.

KOLA: Why not, are you going somewhere?

RITA: Not really, but apart from when I go out to hawk my bananas or go to church I don’t like going out anyhow.

KOLA: Ok so can I come to your house then? Hope your parents won’t be mad at you for bringing a man home?

RITA: Hmmm, No they won’t dear. Please let’s talk tomorrow, I need to eat before my food gets cold, beside it’s late already you show take a shower and eat something too.

KOLA: Oh no, I don’t want you to go, but no problem since we are meeting tomorrow right?

RITA: Hmm, ok see you tomorrow. Bye

KOLA: Goodnight and sweet dreams.

That night I couldn’t sleep, since I moved to this small house no one has ever visited me and now someone is planing to visit me tomorrow. I’m so ashamed and sacred. I’m sacred because I have never been in the same room with a man alone before, what if kola isn’t as gentle as he looks and try to take advantage of me? and I’m ashamed because my room is not nice, no television, no radio not even a bed or chair. What if he laughs at my house and mock me?

No no no I don’t think kola is like that. I manage to sleep a little that night. The next morning. Kola’s call was what woke me up.

RITA: Good morning, how was your night?

KOLA: My night was fine but short, couldn’t sleep since I was waiting for morning to come quickly so I could see you again.

RITA: So how’s your health?

KOLA: I’m fine now, thanks. So how was your night?

RITA: My night was ok and I thank God you are feeling better.

KOLA: I called to ask if you have not change your mind concerning what we talked about last night.

RITA: Smiles, no I haven’t change my mind, I’m still in bed, I will text you the address.
