“No, you can’t arrest them, I caused this and I
am to pay for it.” Daniel spook softly and he was
handcuffed by a sergeant. Fortunately for Daniel,
a luxurious car drove into the school compound
and Princess stared at the deluxe car as it was
approaching.

“This is not my father’s car.” Princess uttered
and I was like ‘ehmm’ (YOU SEE SUSPENCE)
The car was parked in front of the principal’s
office and the driver hurrily jumped down from
the car and he opened the back door for the
owner.


“Where are those idiots?” Behold it was the
Commissioner for Education of the state.
“Sir.” The police officers saluted the
Commissioner.

“Where is the principal?” The Commissioner
barked angrily.
“Good morning sir, here I am.” Mr. Chorus replied
as he adjusted his ‘kango’ cap.
“What a violent!” The commissioner exclaimed
surprisingly while looking at the damaged cars
and broken bottles.
“What of these idiots won’t arrest them?” The
commissioner barked loudly.
“No, they are not involved commissioner, they
are even the one that apprehend me before the
police came.” Daniel defended with a frown face.
“At your age, you’re a tout… do you have future
at all?” The Commissioner barked loudly.
“Very well sir, my future is very bright and clear.

It is bright like the midnight moon and it is
shinning like the morning sun and sparkling like
the noon sun. So, I am such a glorious child that
every parent would dream of having a child like
me.” Daniel replied boldly.
“You have the audacity to respond to my
question…” The Commissioner barked angrily
displaying some antics like a mad man.
“You asked a question, so I answered you.”
Daniel confronted confidently.

“Arrest him.” The Commissioner barked loudly
and the police officer accepted.

“No, we are all going together.” Cynthia uttered
with tears in her eyes.

“No, we’re not going together; let me pay for
what I caused.” Daniel riposted softly.
“Sir, I am less concerned about him. I am more
concerned about the damaged cars and my
phone above all and if the phone can’t be found
on time, that means I am finished.” Mr. Chorus
uttered unknowingly.

“Your phone? Don’t worry; the government will
get you a new phone.” The Commissioner
assured.

“No Sir, that is not what I mean, the memory
card of the camera in my office is there in the
phone, and there are many things on the phone
that must not be seen by anybody else talk less
of leaking. Please help me to do something
about it.” Mr. Chorus whispered into the
commissioner’s ear and Daniel sensed what they
are discussing.

“Please can I talk to my friend?” Daniel asked
the sergeant holding him by his trousers.
“You are not allowed to say a word.” The
Sergeant replied with some kind of husky voice.

“Okay.” Daniel replied smiling.
“Ola…” Daniel whispered and I noticed his
whispering. Daniel dropped a smartphone on the
floor and he used his leg to pack sand on the
phone and he signaled to me to pick it up after
he left with the police and I nodded in approval. I
understand that Daniel has a trick to play with
the phone, but he was too wise to be guess. The Sergeant dragged Daniel into their van and the
police van, the ministry delegates and the
Commissioner for Education cars sped off.

“Try the number again.” Mrs. Benita suggested.
“It was switch off.” Mr. Chorus replied baffled.

“What’re you still waiting for? Go home.” Mr.
Chorus barked loudly and I summoned some
courage to pick up the phone.

I got home and I met Mama at the backyard, she
was pounding the yam piles she wanted to use
to make yam flour. I greeted her and she told me
that she heard there is a violent in my school and
I narrated how everything goes. She screamed
when she heard that Daniel was arrested by the
police officers.

“What about his mother? Has she heard?” Mama
asked panicked.

“Yes, I branched at her shop and I told her, she
left immediately for the police station.” I reported
to Mama.
“Please, help me to pound the remaining piles.”
Mama begged.

“Where are you going Mama?” I asked
suspiciously.

“To the police station of course.” Mama replied
and she slammed the door behind herself.
I sluggishly pound the yam piles and in less than
ten minutes, I was through with that, I entered
my room and brought out my school uniform.
“Let me check what is on this phone maybe it
may help.” I uttered serenely and I switch on the
phone. I strolled to the video folder and I play
some videos.

“I think the principal owned the phone.” I uttered
with no answer.

“What am I seeing?” I asked serenely in disbelief.
Behold, the video was playing Mr. Chorus and
Mrs. Benita having s-x in the principal’s office,
just then Leo barged in without knocking and he
caught them in the dirty act.

“Dad!” Leo screamed loudly and he angrily
walked out of the Principal’s office.
“What’re we going to do?” Mrs. Benita
questioned panicked according to the video.
Mr. Chorus hurrily wore his trouser and Mrs.
Benita hurrily dressed herself and they left the
office. The video was blank showing nothing for
a while and I fast forwarded the video.

“Leo, please I am really sorry, I know you have
caught us in the act, please let make it a secret
between you and I.” Mr. Chorus begged.
“Dad, I am really disappointed in you.” Leo
returned angrily but unfinished when Mr. Chorus
barged into his words.

“I know and I admit it, please just let this be a
secret between us.” Mr. Chorus uttered
beseechingly.

“I can only overlook this on two conditions.” Leo
uttered and he got on his feet walking up and
down the office.
“I am all hears, name anything, I am ready to do
anything for you as long as my secret won’t be
unconcealed.” Mr. Chorus guaranteed.

“My conditions is that, everything things I do in
this school must be overlooked and I must not
be criticized by any teacher or the school
managements at large, and everything I asked
for must be granted and provided without delay.

Are you game?” Leo asked smiling.
“Sure, I am over game.” Mr. Chorus concluded
forcing out a smile and Leo left his office.

“Ah!” I screamed loudly.
As if that wasn’t not enough, I played many
videos of the Principal and some teaching staffs
sharing the school wealth and embezzling the
school resources, diverting the parent hard
earned money into their pockets, and meetings
on how they will be milking the parents.

“Ah! People are callous and selfish o, so it is true
that the government asked the students to be
paying #255 naira per term and the school
management enforced the students to be paying
over #3000 naira per terms.” I uttered with a
heavy mind.

“But this is videos can be helpful, I can use them
to bail Daniel out of the police custody and even
terminate his exorcise and rustication.” I said
serenely and I switched off the phone and I
ejected the memory card.
“But am I bold enough to do this?” I questioned
rhetorically.
