Movie Story: Jemeji - Season 1 - Episode 69

The people of Aji stare in shock as Iya Minasu's body is carried through the village on a stretcher.
Senami walks in front of Oviyon and the other man helping to carry the stretcher.

As they pass by some villagers, Senami tells them that they should be happy since this was what they wanted, the witch is dead so they can now come and gloat over her body.
She calls them a worthless pile of ingrates.
Oviyon consoles her.

At the palace, Otogan thanks Obi for helping to calm the village down.
Obi calls him Chief but Otogan tells him to call him daddy or Otoje.
Obi says when next Chief wants to take him to Mausi, he should get him know first.
Otogan says it's not like he went there to lie.
Obi panics.

A guard rushes in to inform Otogan of Iya Minasu's death.

Fonton is at home complaining to Petunia about being the only one who got punished.
Petunia says it's because he's a man.

Fonton's son, Jonah walks in with a bag of provisions.
Fonton is surprised to see him.
Jonah says Matron told him about the riot.
Fonton asks why she bothered him.

They hear drums beating.
Petunia goes outside to see.

Jonah asks his father what he needs Petunia for.
Fonton tells him to rest to he can leave in the morning.

Senami comes out of the clinic and tells Oviyon that whoever hit Iya Minasu did it with a lot of force and it was a deliberate attempt to kill her.

Folake calls Senami on the phone to tell her the cab has arrived and they need to leave.
Senami says she's not leaving until she buries her grandmother.
Folake is shocked.

Senami calls her father.
He complains that she ignored his calls all night.
Senami asks if it was before or after he tried to reach her grandmother.
He asks what she's saying.
She says she found his number on her granny's phone and she's dead.

Iya Oviyon goes into the village where she sees Doris and Iya Francis.
She asks if they've seen Oviyon as he was supposed to go and say goodbye to Senami but he hasn't returned.
Iya Francis tells her that Iya Minasu is dead.

Obi returns to the lodge and she tells him that she told the cab to leave because it will be wrong for them to just leave Senami like that, so they can leave after a few days.
Obi says he's not staying for just a few days as Aji is his home now,; she can make her own plans and forget about him.
She asks what has gotten into him.
He says he just came to pack his throngs to move into Chief's house.
She says she doesn't understand, one minute they are great and the next, he breaks up with her and the next, he acts as if he doesn't even care.
He asks when he hasn't cared about her.
She asks if he's hiding anything from her.
He asks why she's complicating things.
He says if she wants to leave Aji it's her decision.
He hugs her and says goodbye.

Neza is digging a hole in the forest.
He takes out the blood bags and throws them in the hole and when he tries to cover the hole, the shovel hits one of the bags and the blood splatters.
He continues covering up the hole.
Someone sees him but the persons face is not revealed.

Oviyon is still with Senami.
He gets a message and tells her he's supposed to go and supervise one of his farms and he will be back.

Senami receives a call from her sister, Sesinu.
Sesinu says she's sorry.
Senami asks if she's coming for the burial.
Sesinu says she can't come as it's a busy time for her at the office.
Senami says she's not surprised.
Sesinu asks when she's leaving Aji.
Senami says the least Sese can do is to grieve
Sesinu says she can't pretend she was a part of her life.
Senami asks if their dad is coming.
Sese says he has locked himself up in his room since he heard the news and she doesn't think Senami should hold out for him.

Two of Otogan's guards are measuring a portion of a farmland.
Some men warn them not to encroach on their land.
They start fighting.
The man who arrived town that morning on a bike, watches then without interfering.

Seyive tells Iya Francis that she heard a witch died in Wesere and her child started flying at night.
Iya Francis says that's how it transfers from one woman to another.

Senami comes out and they stop talking.
She tells them not to stop on her account.

Zansi calls Senami to tell her about a patient at the clinic suffering from severe migraine.
Senami says she doesn't care because if the villagers had their way, she would have been a corpse and they claim to have been doing fine without her, so they can just carry on.

The guards return to Otogan and tell him that they have marked the land but the people who opposed them didn't budge when they mentioned Mausi.
Otogan says he would talk to their chief.

Senami comes to see Otogan.
He sympathises with her over her grandmother's death

Senami asks what he intends to do about it since she was murdered and the police are useless?
She says she should be able to trust he would handle it but after what happened at the village meeting, she's afraid it will be all talk.
He says he understands she is hurt but she should realise Rome wasn't built in a day.
She tells him the burial is tomorrow and says there will be a wake at the clinic that evening and she wants him to let the town crier invite the villagers, so they can pay their last respect to a woman they once respected before they wronged her.

The town crier makes the announcement.

Senami is at the clinic with Oviyon, Zansi, Folake and Obi.

Iya Minasu's corpse is wrapped in white sheet and placed on the bed.
Senami complains that the villagers didn't show up.
Oviyon says maybe they will show up at the burial tomorrow.

He asks where she will bury the body and he suggests a grave near her mother's.
Senami says she won't allow the villagers forget, so she would bury her grandmother in the village square and make the villagers face their sins every day.
