Movie Story: Jemeji - Season 1 - Episode 78

It's still nighttime in Aji.
Obi calls Dr. Jide.
Dr. Jide is on his way home from the lodge. He is holding a handkerchief to his head.
He looks at the handkerchief and it's soaked with blood.
He tells Obi that whatever he has to say can wait until tomorrow.
Obi says it can't wait as Otogan has been asking to speak with his parents and he can't hold it off any longer.
Dr. Jide tells him not to panic.
Obi tells him to come up with a plan fast.

Petunia is in the market.
Iya Francis comes to greet her and tells her to greet her husband as he tried in saving the child's life.
Petunia asks her how she got a black eye.
Iya Francis says she walked into a door.
Petu knows she's lying and asks her to say the truth.
Iya Francis says after Francis died her husband started drinking and hits her sometimes.

Fonton is sitting outside the clinic, watching his boys as they clean up the place.
Matron comes out of the clinic to meet Dr. Jide.
Dr. Jide is wearing a bandage on his head.
She asks what happened.
He waves it off.
She asks why he asked that they should pack and leave the corper's lodge.
He says they don't need to use it anymore; they can use the actual clinic.
Matron asks if he can see what the clinic looks like.

Folake walks by and greets Matron.
Dr. Jide turns his face away.

Folake continues on her way.

Matron noticed the tension and asks Dr Jide again what really happened to him.
He says he's fine.
He asks if Senami can help raise money for the clinic.
Matron says she doesn't think Senami wants to have anything to do with the clinic anymore.
Dr. Jide asks if she is with Kingsley.
Matron says she thinks so.
He laughs and says there's their answer.
Matron doesn't quite follow.
He says he doesn't need to start explaining how Senami got the previous money for the clinic but if she puts her back to it, he's sure she can raise some more.
Matron exclaims.

The maiden comes to visit Obi at the Palace.
She brings him snacks and starts flirting.
He tells her he's not interested and she needs to leave.
She stares at him, unable to speak.
He raises his voice and tells her to leave.
She walks away, leaving her plate of snacks behind.
He helps himself to it.

Senami meets Oviyon in Aji.
He asks how she is.
She says she's fine.
He says he's sorry about the other day and just didn't expect to find her at Kingsley's house; if she was open with him, he wouldn't have jumped to conclusions.
She asks if he has spoken to his mother to confirm what she said that night.
He says he spoke with her and she said she wasn't responsible.
Senami tells him to get real.
He asks if she's calling his mother a liar.
She says''If the shoe fits...'
He says they shouldn't talk about his mother but about how she thinks it's okay for her to stay with a man she barely knows.
She says at least his ( Kingsley's) own mother didn't try to kill her.
He says 'Here we go again.'
She says it's obvious they would never see eye to eye on the matter so she doesn't even know why they bothered.
She walks away.

Petunia goes to meet Papa Francis on his farm.
She asks if he really beats his wife.
He asks what her business is.
She says it's not right and if he wanted to fight, he could have faced a fellow man like Fonton.
He chases her away with his machete.

Senami comes to the clinic.
Dr. Jide says he missed her and it's nice of her to show.
She greets him coldly.
He says he was wondering if she could meet her good friend Kingsley for more donations.
She says 'Been there, done that.'
He says the more reason it shouldn't be difficult for her to meet him again.

Fonton and Half a day are eavesdropping.

Senami says she doesn't work there anymore.
Dr. Jide says she was posted there to serve
Senami says she was posted to serve and not to get burnt alive so he should let the people who burnt the clinic fix it.
He says she can't expect to sit on her hands and get a certificate at the end of the day.
She reminds him that she built the clinic to what it was in the first place and started the blood drive.
Dr. Jide says it wouldn't have been possible without Kingsley so he expects her to give it her best shot; he's willing to offer his services but he lacks the equipment to get it done.
She is livid.
She asks who he thinks he is; he wasn't there the night they were almost killed.
He walks away laughing.

Matron begs Senami to come to the clinic and attend to a patient.
Senami says she doesn't work there anymore.
Matron pleads with her, saying it's a girl that almost drowned.

Oviyon returns home.
His mother asks where he's been.
He tells her to just ask the question she's dying to ask and that's if he went to see Senami.
She tells him never to mention that name in her house again.
He tells her that he had to lie to Senami to protect her.
She asks what the witch's daughter can do to her.

Petunia brings food to the clinic.
All the boys hail her.
They see the look on her face and ask what's wrong.
She tells them she's not happy at all because Papa Francis beats his wife.
She tells them all that happened with Iya Francis at the Market and how her husband treated her when she confronted him.
They boys assure her that they will handle it.
They go in search of Papa Francis.

Matron takes Senami to the little girl's house.
They meet her mother who complains that the girl has been stooling since she was brought back home.
Senami says she doesn't want the infection to spread so she needs to go to the Wesere hospital.
The woman laments.
Matron says she doesn't have even transport fare to get to Wesere.

Obi returns to the Palace.
Otogan apologises for sleeping off the night before.
Obi says he spoke with his parents and they took the news badly.
Otogan says it's to be expected but when they meet everything will be okay
Obi says his parents don't want to meet Otogan, they just want the result of the DNA test and the even want him (Obi) to leave Aji immediately.

Fonton and Half-a-day are drinking beer in front of Fonton's house.

Petunia meets them.
Fonton tells her that he and half-a-day want to star a transportation business.
Petunia says the same business Fonton did before.
Half-a-day says it will be different this time around and they will go to places like Benin Republic.
Fonton asks how he would be able to cross the border.
Half-a-day says he has connections and they should trust him and stop asking too many questions.
Petunia says she trusts him.
Fonton asks if they will make enough money to buy clinic equipment.
Half-a-day says it's small change but they need to get all the farmers to sign an agreement to do business with Fonton.

Folake is in the classroom, teaching her pupils about love and pride.
She asks for an example.
A female pupil says the Prince kissed the Princess.
Her classmates laugh.
Folake says the 'Prince loved the Princess but he broke her heart; the Princess was too good for him and they have to ask themselves if he really loved her or he wanted to use her?'

She tells them they will continue the session later.
She runs outside to cry.
