It’s now very late. We all went to our various room for our bedtime. I got to the room and I picked my phone from where I kept it. As usual, missed calls. Bidemi topped the chat of the most missed calls. I knew that she would be worried about what happened today. It disgust me thinking how worried she might me. I dialled her number and she picked immediately the phone beeps at my own end.

Bidemi: (voice calm) hello Femi

Me: hi Bidemi.. are you guys back from the hospital?

Bidemi: yes… I started calling immediately we got back but you dint pick.

Me: I’m sorry… I just woke up and my phone was on silent.

Bidemi: (kept quiet for awhile) I’m sorry for what happened today. I’m really sorry.

Me: no need to plead again. I’m used to it. I just know that a time will come that I won’t be picking your calls.

Bidemi: (voice saddens) please don’t try that: I will just kill myself.

Me: (voice serious) I have passed my message.
Is it because you know that I love you; that’s why you are acting so irrational like this?

Bidemi: (sobbing) I’m sorry.. I’m sorry

Me: I begged you but you choose to just act like
the abnormal or sorry the normal Bidemi.

Bidemi: I’m sorry Femi… Ruka said
somethings today: is it true?

Me: what did she say?

Bidemi: she said somethings like you kissing her and some other odd things. Have you had
sexx with her?

Me: (smiling) what do you want me to tell you?
Bidemi: the truth… just tell me.

Me: (smiling) I don’t know what to say. If I tell you the truth; you won’t believe me. So just let it be.

Bidemi: (impatient) just tell me the truth.

Me: okay.. I have not slept with her. Are you satisfied now?

Bidemi: (mixed feelings) I don’t believe you. Just tell me the truth.

Me: I have not slept with her and that’s the truth. You can believe whatever you want to believe.

Bidemi: she sounds as if you have already made love to her. She seems bent on keeping you.

Me: (laughing) if she sounds like that: then what do you think the others think about you?

Bidemi: (confused) I don’t know. what do you think they might be thinking?

Me: they would think that we have been sleeping together since.

Bidemi: (smiling) really… I don’t know that my
behaviour would make them think like that.
I’m sorry.

Me: no need to beg me again. Just change your behaviour.

Bidemi: I said I’m sorry. But come to think of it; when are we having sexx.

Me: (smiling) me and you? I don’t know. I don’t want you to turn me into a dummy. We have not had it together: you are acting this way.

She dint seems happy with the way I brushed aside the topic of us making love. We talked about other things and she ended the call after insisting that she would soon bring up the issue on sexx.

I smiled as I thought over what Bidemi said. I know that she’s not happy and a part of her tells her that I’m having sexx with some other ladies.

I yawned. I managed to take my drugs and I slept off. I woke up around 7am. I rushed to kitchen and I discovered that Funmilayo
prepared pap and moimoi; on the directives of my mum.

I went to the bathroom: brushed my teeth and took my bath. I ate my breakfast and took my drugs for the morning.

It’s now 8am in the morning. As I awaited the arrival of Chidinma; I connected a call to Motunrayo. She picks.

Motunrayo: hello Femi… how are you doing now?

Me: I’m very fine now and you?

Motunrayo: I’m fine.. I’m still coming to your place but it would be later in the afternoon.

Me: no problem.. I’m even going to the hospital soon.

We concluded that she should come later in evening. She ended the call by telling that she loves me. All my friends are now girls. I was lost in thought about what I’m going to do to Motunrayo when Chidinma entered. She’s truly beautiful. She wore a very tight jean and a tight colourful t-shirt.

I smiled within me.
