After Davis had sent Martin away he turned back to clyde and said. “let her go lindsey.”

Davis looked at Rachel. Her pale throat was arched, her head, with its thick tangled white hair, was thrown back as she stared up at him, her eyes unblinking, the Look of desires that had warmed her features the days and nights before now burned with fury. Sam lifted up his face and looked beyond Davis to clyde and said. “boy taking that girl ain’t gonna benefit you any iota, even if i want to shoot you i will do it whether she is around or not.

“and you old codger will have to shot her down before me” clyde snapped. ”cos she is staying right where she is until we reach Mexico, then when am finished with her only then u will get her back.”

Pete and Pedro moved for their horses. Davis remained where he was, his gun at his hips and his eyes on lindsey then Rachel.
