Rachel tried to moisten her lips with a tongue that was dry and swolen from thirst. It wasn’t possibe. How Davis must be laughing at her now, she thought. How damnable gullible she had been. How childish to harbor such infantile fantasies that a man such as Davis could be anything other than what he was.

Yet not a moment passed when she wasn’t aware of his presence. Like all those days on the rain the way he sat on his horse, wore his hat shifted his eyes, or smiled. Except he wasn’t smiling now…… A grim and coldness had set his face like stone and with that had once brought a spark to those fathomless blue eyes had finished.

To her horror she realized she felt a new fascination of him. She had been aware of his masculinity before but now there was something more, a savagery and a control that left her weak and wretchedly helpless against his approval.

He caught her watching him once. Twisting suddenly in his saddle, he turned his dark face toward her and their eyes clashed: blue violet and blue fury and mockery. They burned into her as his mouth dry and cracked from the sun, quirks down at the corners, and she thought though she couldn’t be certain that he whispered her name. Then clyde began kneading her b----t again and for a heart stopping moment Davis hand went to the gun on his thigh.

The hour was near upon noon before they stopped. In utter exhaustion. Rachel slid limply from clyde’s hand to the ground. Collapsing as the impact sent shards of pain scattering her legs. Clyde followed before she could bring her pounding head up he rapped his bony fingers around her arms and hauled her up to her feet.

“i reckon this is as good as a time as any to take what i want from you darling.”clyde said mockingly.

She was so tired she scarcely understood his words. But the feral glint in his eyes as he yanked her head back with a handful of her hair jerked her from her half dazed state.com she threw herself backward, breaking his hold on her arm. Then fell to her knees as Pedro and clyde burst out laughing.

“she got spun come on cotton top, show us how hard you can fight!” planting his foot on her back side he gave her a shove. She landed on her raw and sun seared face and slid across the baked earth.

Davis closed his eyes to prevent the anger from showing.

( guyz i doubt Davis will allow clyde to take Rachel especially when she is a virgin.
