I picked up my boss and called my boss back, he picked at the second ring.

SAM: Good evening sir?

BOSS: Where have you been sam? I called like a thousand times.

SAM: I’m sorry I missed your calls sir, I was busy outside.

BOSS: (he sign) it’s alright, how have you been?

SAM: Great sir, God has been so good to me. How are you sir and everyone in the office?

BOSS: We are all fine, we all miss your babyish character here in the office.

I chuckle, why do people keep saying that? Babyish? For Chris sake I’m a full grown woman.

SAM: I miss you guys too. So what’s up? I know your calling isn’t because you miss me.

He chuckle too.

BOSS: I want you to return back home, during the weekend because by Monday you will be traveling to Canada for a business deal.

My eyes pop open, return home? But I told him I was going away for a month it’s barely a week and he want me back?

SAM: That’s not fair sir, we agreed I was gonna stay away for a month, it’s not even a week yet.

BOSS: I know sam, but you know only you can Crack this deal, you have got all it takes babes.

SAM: I’m having the best time of my life now sir, I can’t come back please. Send Val his good too. Please sir.

BOSS: I wanted to send him but Val is hospitalize.

SAM: What? What happened to him?

BOSS: He had an accident two days after you left.

SAM: I feel sorry for him. But still I’m not coming back ooh.

BOSS: Sam, I want you back here in my office by Monday and that’s an order. (he hung up). I was so filled with rage, what nonsense if you are ‘stupid people complain’ and when you are smart and intelligent people use it to their advantage’ in this case now I regret why I’m not stupid. If I’m stupid they won’t even border giving me this deal to handle. I got up from the bed to the kitchen to get water, I turn on the kitchen light and I almost passed out of fear. Papa was in the kitchen too. Water in his hand.

SAM: Holy cow, you almost scare me to death daddy. Why didn’t you turn on the light?

PAPA: Nothing, I know the direction of the fridge so I felt there was no need to turn on the light.

SAM: And why ain’t you sleeping?

PAPA: You want the truth?

SAM: Who doesn’t like truth? I love truth so tell me (I smiled at him and he smiled back show me his side dimple)

PAPA: Couldn’t sleep. Just one night you slept in my arms and I’m addicted, (he moves closer) just stay with me tonight in my room please.

SAM: (I sign) what if I didn’t come out here?

PAPA: I would have come and knock your door. Please sam, just this night (his eyes begging me to accept)

SAM: Ok fine, just this night ok? I won’t give you this grace tomorrow alright?

PAPA: Yes ma, can we go now (smiling)

SAM: I haven’t even taken my water yet. Give me a minutes. I went to the fridge and took a bottle of cold water drank from it and return it back into the fridge.

SAM: Let’s go daddy. (he chuckle)

PAPA: Stop calling me daddy, it makes me feel too old. I gave a soft laugh “Ain’t you old” I asked him but instead he picked me up from the ground bridal style and took me to his room then place my back on the bed gently and romantically.

PAPA: A least I can carry you, so that answer your question I’m not old. We both laughed his so funny. He lay close to me and wrapped his hand round my waist.

SAM: Are you happy? That I’m in your life? Do I give you joy?

PAPA: I know it hard to believe but the feelings you bring I didn’t even feel half of it when I was married to Martha my late wife. I loved her, I even thought I wasn’t going to love again then you came and changed all that. Everyday, every minute all I want is you, think of is just you. SAM I love you is an understatement you mean everything to me.
I took a deep breathe, smiled and faced him,

SAM: I was sacred of loving you at first, I didn’t want to get my heart broken. I like cute guys and tall but I never loved any I was sacred of getting my heart broken because stories I have heard about how the dump you after sleeping with you. The first man I started to love is a pastor and married? I tried to kill it, didn’t want to tell you how I feel cos if fear of you rejecting me. That day I kissed you in my room? It was my last guts that I used. I really do love you too daddy.

He smiled moved closer and kissed my nose. It felt cold and sweet.

SAM: Do that again (kiss my nose).
He smiled again and kissed my nose “I like it I whisper ” he laughed you are too babyish sam. I laughed too that’s the second time I heard that today. He stare in my eyes for a while and sign.

PAPA: I know it’s wrong but just this night sam. Please can I just kiss you? I promise to stop when it becomes intense.
It’s cold, the weather was for two he loves me and I love him too hell yes I wanna kiss him besides it just a kiss.

SAM: Sure you can kiss me. I would to kiss you too.

He smiled, moved closer to me his left hand place around my neck.
