I opened the door to see that it was Frank who knocked. I smiled and welcomed him in.
Frank came in, greeted Tessy and stared at me nervously, perhaps feeling that he came at the wrong time.

“i don’t know, maybe i should come back later” he stammered nervously.

“no Frank you came at a good time. C’mon relax” i answered while Tessy slowly picked up her handbag and smiled at him.

“hey Frank i hope you still remember that we have some things to talk about?” she asked him. Frank quickly nodded silently.
“call me whenever you are free. It shouldn’t pass today” she said to him, drew close to me and pecked me warmly.
“i guess we are seeing each other tonight?” she asked with a smile, turned and left with her head high, not bothering to wait for my reply.

“hmmmm you guys really fit each other” Frank joked as soon as we were alone while i gave him a suspicious look.

“so where have you been these past few days. I somehow feel that you stayed away because Tessy asked you to or maybe because you are doing some background games on me” I queried suspiciously. He gasped with shock..

“yea you brought me here from Enugu, we travelled home for your girl. We returned and you suddenly disappeared, just right the moment Tessy showed up. I got no phone call nor even a Facebook message from you. C’mon you stayed away for a reason” i accused him with all seriousness.

“c’mon Val, just stop that nasty idea please. You know i travelled home because of the situation in my girl’s family. I later travelled to Onitsha to see an uncle who kept me for some days in his house before helping me with money. Tell me did something happen or what?. Why are you sounding so bitter?” he explained and asked. I shrugged, breathed deeply and told him the latest story concerning Tessy and I.

We spent almost all evening talking about it until Tessy called him around 6pm to come over to her house for the little discussion she wanted to have him. Frank left thereafter, leaving me all alone to continue with the story i was writing for my blog which was abandoned when Tessy showed up hours earlier.

However, about twenty minutes later, i got a surprising phone call from Chinwe.
“Hi Val, are you still in Owerri?. I want to come over” she announced pleasantly……

Frank returned later in the evening to tell me all that Tessy wanted from him.
“She still seriously wants me to help her. She promised me another fifteen thousand naira monthly added to the one she already promised before i brought you from Enugu. She wants me to be keeping tabs on you and also help her in fully winning you over” he opened up to me.
“you know i need the money?” he added while i scoffed and said nothing…

Chinwe showed up at exactly 10pm the next day, looking so hot and beautiful in her Nysc uniform.

“wow you look so good” i smiled as i hugged her.
“i can’t believe this is you” Frank confessed as he hugged her as well.
“yea God is wonderful. I’m now finally earning a little money from the government” she laughed.
“anyway Val, it really will be bad of me not to show a little appreciation over all you did for me when I was still in school, and the money you always helped me with even though we aren’t together anymore. I saved up five thousand Naira for you from my monthly allowance” she said, fetching out an envelope which she offered to me.
“just take it please. I know i owe you much more. So please take your own share of my allowee {Nysc slang for allowance}” she begged, shocking me with her gesture that for a minute i couldn’t utter a word.
My respect and admiration for her increased a hundred times over. Even Frank was so shocked and stunned as well.
