The Drummer Boy - Season 1 Episode 19

Me: why did you say that? i asked her.
Mercy: is it not one silly guy, because i agreed to talk with him
now he is telling me rubbish
Me: how do you mean? i asked
Mercy: telling me he wants to date me bla bla bla rubbish.
Me: is it bad for him to ask you?
Mercy: *getting angered by my question* emilo i don’t have time
for men now she said and walked inside her room.
Her statement sent a double question to my mind. i was
confused i didn’t even know what to think again. Was the kiss
fluke or was the kiss a mistake, should i just stay and lie low or
should i ask her for a relationship. i just opted to stay on my
own. But that decision wasn’t easy as she has awaken my drum
skills. i just had to play cool after all it was just a light kiss and
nothing special. The next day i didn’t talk with her much apart
from greeting each other. At noon i left for practice after
rehearsal, i apologized for my rude behaviour and the ban was
reduced. After practise, i left for my place while walking home, i
saw lilian from a distance, i guess by then she had not seen me,
she was coming through my way. i became confused because
this lady has suddenly became my nightmare and couple with the
fact that we were in the same locality, we can bump into each
other at any time made the whole situation worse.
For me to dodge her, i have to take another street which was far
to my place to get home or walk pass he, say hi or better still
pray she doesn’t notice me while passing, or i can suddenly
become a rental ghost, hold my nose and disappear like those
good old days play i use to watch on nta 2 channel 5. Well, i
opted for the first option and i guess that was the best option.
When i got home, i went straight to my room because mercy and
her sister were at the palour watching a movie. Next day i went
for service but i was not allowed to play because of the
suspension so i had to sit at the choir’s chair and pretended like
i missed rehearsal that was not the reason why i was allowed to
play.
After the service, i was sat at a place trying to write something
down when a low and an angelic voice said a soft hi. At that
point, i wonder the angel that had fell down from heaven and
landed in Nigeria. By then, i knew even God would have been
jealous that he allowed one of his master’s piece to come and
dwell in the midst of man. i turned to the direction where the
voice came out from low and behold its was ..

It was a young fine lady which should be in her 14 or 15 because
she belongs to the teenage class. I had been seeing her but I
didn’t take any notice of her because I don’t do teenage kids but
her body was so bigger than her age. She has a matured face
and an average size body, while I was still admiring the angle
standing beside me with her angelic voice and her nice
fragrance, she said in another soft tone. Sister Precious said I
should call you. Ok I manager to say to her at this point my
drum stick has started misbehaving because while she walked, I
used my eyes to escort her backside making sure they were not
impeded on the way. I chilled for some second to allow my
misbehaving rod lie low, then I stood up and went to meet her.
When I got to where she sat, I took a sit by her side.
Me: Longest time. Feeling happy
Precious: yeah! How are you?
Me: Am good and you, how is school

Precious: School is fine o. You didn’t even flash not to talk of
calling to check on me.
Me: *confused by the indirect question, I knew I had to provide
an answer that will not get her angry* Am so sorry, it not my
fault. Actually virus entered my phone
Precious: how manage?
Me: *there was a time, virus became the companion of phones
most especially nokia phones then* I collected a song from a
friend’s phone and before I knew it, my phone started
misbehaving so I had to flash it and I lost every data on my
phone and I didn’t know that your number was saved on my
phone and not sim. *I lied*
Precious: Am sorry about that sha!
Me: Thank God she bought into the lie. So are you guys on
holiday now I asked?
Precious: Yes we are on break for now. Hope you still
remembered what I asked you off?
Me: *pretending like I have forgotten* what was that again your
princess? Lol
Precious: go jor. I know you remember. Anyway sha, just make
out time to teach me how to play the drum set sha
Me: for angel like you, I will gladly do it for free and then collect
my reward in heaven. Lol
Precious: hmmm, men with their sweet mouth. Sha teach me lol
Me: So who is that girl you told to come and call me?
Precious: I hope you don’t have eyes for her cos am going to kill
you if I find out. Lol
Me: eyes ke… she is a teenager.
Precious: our last born
Me: Chei! I guess in your house, you people have depopulated
the amount of angles in heaven down to earth abi? Lol
Precious: you are very funny. So when do we start?
Me: let start on Tuesday
Precious: ok that is fine.
After service I left for my house I could take my mind of the two
s*xy** voices I heard today as I chorused my way home. When I
got home, Mercy was the only person at home as the aunty and
her husband and child have gone out to visit somebody. I
greeted her and walk inside my room, changed went to the
kitchen too my food and went back inside my room. I didn’t want
to talk with her because of her statement. After about an hour
plus, I heard a knock on the door of my room. When I opened the
door, lo and behold it was mercy standing there. What could be
the reason why she left where she sat, to my room? Knowing that
it’s only me and she that are at home, is she here again to insult
me indirectly like she did the last time or she is here again to
plant another unknowing kiss on me? My mind wandered about
without an answer but whatsoever reason it was, the only best
way to find out is to hear from the horse’s mouth.
