“Thank you for the offer, but it will be a busy week for me.”
“But it’s on weekend.” she didn’t want to give up easily.
He scratched his head.

“I don’t know. If I am free I will let you know, otherwise I will buy a gift for the bride and groom
so you can deliver it to them.” He said.

“Okay sir. But I will be hoping that you will be free.”
Their plane landed in Lagos by 12:30pm. It wasn’t hard for the taxi man to locate the
address on the paper that Humaira showed him.

“Is this the place?” Mustafa asked Humaira as they wind their windows down.

“I don’t know, this is my first time here as well.
But it should be.” she replied.
The taxi left and there they were, standing outside the house.
“Are you okay sir?” Humaira asked Mustafa who was rubbing his forehand with his palm.
“I am all right. I am just stressed.” he said.
That’s what he thought, but that really wasn’t it.

A feeling was rushing through him, thoughts, emotions, events, words and faces. They came to
him like a slide show, a very fast slide show!
“You should stop calling me sir, at least while we are not in the office.” He added.
“Okay sir…I mean okay.” she said smiling at her mistake. Mustafa smiled back.
“So what now?” he asked.
“I am dialing her number to tell her we are outside.”

Few minutes later the gate opened and an elderly man who seemed to be the gateman asked them in. They climbed the staircase; standing by the door was Mrs. Animashaun. Her age hadn’t
changed her look a bit. She looked as though time was on a stand still for her.

Humaira ran to her, giving her a tight hug!
In the living room were Mr. Animashaun and Asmau. Asmau was sitting cross-legged paying
complete attention to her phone and her fingers moving so fast. As soon as the visitors took their sit, she dropped her phone on the edge of the chair, anticipating seeing the diary.

Mrs. Animashaun gaze fell on Mustafa’s. After he had greeted them, Mrs. Animashaun couldn’t take her eyes off his. There was something about his eyes that caught her attention, which spoke unheard words to her.

His eyes reminded her of her son.
And as some would say, a person’s soul can be seen from their eyes.
Humaira brought out the diary and handed it to the family. Asmau went closer to take a look. If
there was anyone who could identify if the diary was truly Sadiq’s it would be Asmau.
