Must Read: Elvis - Season 1 - Episode 9

Emerald shipping agency stood majestically in its glory. The building housing the firm is a 12-storeyed building, located in the heart of Lekki. Elvis stood dumbstrucked before the building, he hadn’t thought of any plan for gaining access into the firm.

After waiting for a few hours, at loss on what to do, he decided to leave and then come up with a better plan tomorrow. He turned back and strutted home.

What is the essence of dragging himself from his residence in Ikorodu to Lekki without a proper plan, he was so disgusted at himself. At least he ought to get a glimpse of the company and its surroundings.

He walked round the company taking in every vital detail of the firm. The company is situated in a way that the frontage is designed by see-through glasses; the main entrance is made of rotating glass doors, about four doors in all. The interior is designed by flower vases, the security personnel stood at opposite sides of the doors, ushering people in and out, the security post is also close to the door but inside the building. The large desk behind which the receptionists are lurking can be seen from the outside. The pretty head of a receptionist shot above the desk as she attends to a customer.
A large fence is constructed behind the company in a way that the fence joins the walls of the company at the back; the fence is like the continuation of the parallel lateral walls of the firm. The fence is covered with asbestos roofing sheets and the roofing joins the building just under the stop of the first floor. There must be something they don’t want people to see lurking under those walls. He went round the building, mingling easily with the ever unceasing pedestrians working their feet on the road. He got to the back of the buildings and was met with a large gate standing bravely before him. The gate goes right to the roof of the fence.
He looked for a suitable position to have a glimpse of what’s going on behind the gate at any chance. He found a kiosk at the other side of the road, bought a piece of meat pie and a bottle of fayrous. He ate slowly, the first bite a small bit, subsequent bites getting smaller than the previous one; he drags slowly from the bottle of fayrous at intervals. The kiosk is situated directly opposite the gate, he readjusted the wooden bench to lie parallel to the gate, he now sat perpendicularly on the bench, facing the large gate.
He had finished his snacks and was feeling the dizzy, the cool breeze tending tenderly to the tenacity of his tensed skin makes it difficult for him to stay awake for long. He rested his head on the wooden wall of the kiosk yielded and himself to that absolute irresistible feeling.
“Mr, hope no problem” he heard, feeling someone tapping lightly on his shoulder.
He woke to see the concerned face of the kiosk owner; he must have slept for long because the sun’s horizon is higher than before. The kiosk owner was relieved when he saw that Elvis is awake, he stretched Elvis’s change at him.

Elvis collected it and jumped to his feet.

A truck is trying to gain access into the compound opposite him, someone peeped through a little rectangular hole, on recognizing the driver of the truck, he closed the hole and spoke to someone. The gate squeaked has it flung open, just wide enough for the truck, the truck rolled into the compound and the gate was closed immediately the truck is in the compound.

Elvis looked intently after the truck, trying to capture the scope of the compound, as large as he could. He could see well-built men harmed with assaulted rifles. Their face has strong has iron. The compound is well lit and looks like a warehouse. Boxes lie idly around, but a peculiar stack of boxes piqued his interest. It looks well-arranged unlike other boxes that are scattered all around. It has about ten boxes well arranged in the stack. The gate flung shut. He frowned in disapproval.
He turned to meet the searching eyes of the kiosk owner, he must have been trying study what Elvis is doing, something Elvis felt he must have been doing for some time. Elvis ordered another drink, just to shake off any suspicion the kiosk owner might be building up. He sat gently to finish his drink.
Thanked the kiosk owner and left the shop.
He strolled briskly away from the location, took his phone out and put a call across to his Dauda.
“Hello sir” Dauda said from the other end, the ‘sir’ a bit reluctant in coming
“Where are you” Elvis said from this end
“the office sir” Dauda replied
“gather the other team members, I want to update you all” Elvis replied walking hurriedly.
The link went numb for some minutes and then came to life
“We are all here sir” Dauda replied from the other side.
“Is anybody else there?” Elvis asked again.
“No”
“Good” Elvis muttered, he updated them of his findings.
“My cover is blown” he finally said before ending the call.
He took a bus and took a long route home, making sure he shakes up any unsuspecting trail. He got home and flung himself to bed.
…………………………………………………………
Upon the departure of Elvis, the kiosk owner took his phone had a long serious chat with the person on the other end of the line.
