Still at the hospital, in Martha’s room, she was still uncounscious, her mum was by her side squeezing her motionless hand and talking to her, while the rest of them including Jayjay stood at a corner watching both mother and daughter.
Her Mum: Chidiebere, please open your eyes, I have a very good news for you, am sure you will be excited to hear this, your big brother is here with you, you know the brother whom you’ve always wanted to spend time with, your big brother whom you’ve always wanted to see and play with, he is here with you today, i know you can hear me please open your eyes, so you can see your big brother Onyemaechi.
Jayjay: Mum, please it is okay, don’t stress yourself too much, the doctor said she will soon recover.
Vanessa: am sure she is hearing you, she will wake up soon, the doctor has already assured us that.
Jayjay’s Mum: thank you my children, i know she will wake up soon, but still yet am hurt to see my daughter in this condition.
Lor’d V: we know that ma’m but still you need to keep calm so you don’t worsen your health condition, Jayjay, please stay and console your mum, while i go and drop off Vanessa and Nkechi in their hostel.
Vanessa: i never said anything about leaving.
Lor’d V: am sorry babe but you have to.
Nkechi: we want to spend time with Martha.
Lor’d V: you will do that tomorrow but as for this night its not possible.
Jayjay’s Mum: son let them stay, there’s enough room for all.

Lor’d V: Ma’m am sorry but not this night, they can stay tommorrow.
Jayjay: Lord, leave them let them stay with their friend this night.
Vanessa: exactly, our room is boring without her there.
Lor’d V: you will understand better tommorrow morning, please everyone just bear with me, i won’t let them stay this night….(to Vanessa)…Baby please, just listen to me this night please just go and rest, (smiles) i don’t want you to get wrinkles on this pretty face of yours.
Vanessa: its not funny, i will just go for one reason.
Lor’d V: what’s the reason.
Vanessa: cos i hate you.
Lor’d V: (winks at her) yeah, thanks for loving me.
Vanessa: don’t be naughty, i am serious…(to Jayjay) Jayjay please take care, i will see you tommorrow after lectures.
Jayjay: no P, you girls should take care of yourselves.
Nkechi: okay bye.
Vanessa & Nkechi: good night Ma.
Jayjay’s mum: goodnight my daughters, take care.
Lor’d V: Jay, i will be right back.
Jayjay: okay, i will be waiting.
Lor’d V left with Nkechi and Vanessa, while Jayjay and his mum still stayed in Martha’s room, with Jayjay cuddling his mum and telling her how he has missed her.
Jayjay’s mum: i’ve missed you too my son, by the way i haven’t heard you call your dad since today.
Jayjay: why should i call him, he is a monster.
Jayjay’s mum: Onyi, don’t say that about your dad.
Jayjay: but mum am saying the truth, that man is a monster, how could he be so heartless as to take a 3 year old child away from his mum and little sister.
Jayjay’s mum: he was only looking out for you, he wanted the best for you.
Jayjay: mum no offence but we all know that, that is a lie, he only wanted to spite you.
Jayjay’s Mum: let’s leave whatever reason he took you away from me aside, even though he took you away from me he gave you the best education, cars, house and other’s whatelse could he have done that he didn’t do for you.

Jayjay: he ruined me emotionally, he took away that motherly love from me, whatelse can be compared to that.
Ten minutes later, Mother and son were still talking and ironing out issues when Lor’d V returned.
Lor’d V: am back, sorry i took long.
Jayjay: welcome back, its okay.
Jayjay’s mum: welcome.
Lor’d V: thank you ma’m.
The three of them sat down again to talk and also advice Jayjay about forgiving his father which he refused blatantly.
Late into the night, one of the nurses came in to do a routine check up on Martha.
Jayjay: nurse, for how long will she remain like this?
Nurse: she will soon be fine, just have faith and be patient.
Jayjay: thank you nurse.
Nurse: you are welcome.
The nurse was about leaving when some guys on black numbering about five barged into the room with one of them pointing a gun directly at Jayjay.
Jayjay: what do you want from me now.
Jayjay’s mum: Onyi, who are they, hope you are not in any kind of trouble.
Jayjay: no mum, just keep calm….(inwardly he knew it was the end for him, but he didn’t try to show it so as not to scare his mum)
Napoleon: did i hear mum, this will be more sweeter than i thought…(raises his head up) God i thank you for a day like this.
Jayjay: just tell me what you want from me.
Napoleon: what do i want?
Lor’d V: just shut the F**k up and say what you want.
Napoleon: what i want is obvious, i want to help you leave this miserable world.
Jayjay’s mum started crying immediately she heard that.
His Mum: please i beg you spare them and kill me instead.
Lor’d V: ma’m please don’t say that, nobody is dying
Napoleon: (laughs) does it look like i came here to play, nonsense
