One month later.

Vanessa: how was the final paper, hope it wasn’t so difficult for you since you missed lectures for awhile.
Martha: No, it wasn’t, thanks to you and N-K. Am glad i have you girls as friends and roommates.
Vanessa: you don’t need to thank us, we only did what was expected of us as your friends.
Martha: why won’t i thank you, when you always updated me on the topics and everything that was happening in school…(pointing to Nkechi, who was standing with two boys probably her from her department) there she is.
Vanessa: is it just me or has she become too friendly with that guy recently.
Martha: which one?
Vanessa: the cute one with the curly hair, what’s that his name?
Martha: (smiling) Fred.
They got to where she was and greeted the two guys warmly, while Vanessa winked at N-K, who got the message and excused herself from the group.
Martha: we have been searching for you, why is your phone switched off.
Nkechi: sorry about that, i was hanging out with fred since our departments last paper ended thirty minutes before yours.
Vanessa: that Fred guy will be the death of you N-K.
Nkechi: think whatever you want to think V.
Martha: please i don’t have time for arguments, my brother will soon be here to pick me, i will spend a week in his off-campus apartment then we will both leave for my Mum’s place.
Vanessa: then let’s get going, unless you want to keep them waiting.
Nkechi: (puzzled) them?
Vanessa: Lordrigo is also coming today, he wants to follow me home so he can see his son.
Nkechi: that is so nice.
Vanessa: yeah.

Martha had returned back to school, almost immediately after the kidnapping incidence; after she got home that day and told her family including the police the c--k and bull story that the man she met earlier told her to tell her parents, everyone were overjoyed to have her back, especially Jayjay who felt very guitly for kissing her that night before she was kidnapped. The next day, in order to avoid police questioning and all that, she informed her parent that she would be travelling back to Enugu to resume school, Jayjay also said that he would be leaving with her too, as he had lots of reading to do so he can cover up for all the lectures he missed before the exams starts, and that was how they both returned to school, while their mother also returned to where she lives to continue her normal daily life.

They following week after their arrival, exam commenced.
The exams ended almost immediately it started.

Mr. Ubah: if not for me, the whole of the family would have been wiped out by now.
Tunde: chief, we should have just killed the girl when we had her with us.
Chinedu: chief, he is right, we had the opportunity to kill her and waste her.
Mr. Ubah: (hitting his palm hard on the table) Nobody is wasting that girl, not even a single hair on her head should be harmed.

Tunde: but chief, she is part of that family.
Mr. Ubah: not really.
Mr. B: not really? how?
Mr. Ubah: its not something you should know, you guys will have to come up with another plan that doesn’t involve hurting the girl.
Mr. B: we already came up with another plan.
Mr. Ubah: good! What is the plan?
Chinedu: according to the school calender they should be rounding up this semester exam today and considering the fact that they just found out that they are siblings they will like to spend two or three days together, so we can use that opportunity to eliminate Jayjay.
Mr. Ubah: nice plan! Just remember that in whatever you do or whatever plan you come up with don’t harm the women in the family.
Tunde: from not harming the girl, it has become don’t harm the women, i am confused.
Mr. Ubah: i changed my mind about the women in the family, killing them is of no use to us. The only reason why we are eliminating the boy, i mean Jayjay is to cut off the family line entirely, if not my only target is their father.
Chinedu: we have heard you.

Tunde: we will be leaving for Enugu this evening.
Mr. Ubah: good, i will send money into your accounts, immediately i get home.
Mr. B: okay.

Mr. Agaba: i have a bad feeling about that Martha’s kidnapping case.
Mrs. Agaba: so do i, why would the kidnappers take someone who they weren’t sure about in the first place.
Mr. Agaba: it doesn’t really sound right, why didn’t they eliminate her when they found out she was the wrong person.
Mrs. Agaba: something doesn’t seem right in all this.
Mr. Agaba: it stills baffles me too.
Mrs. Agaba: maybe we should inform the police to re-open the case, for us to be sure that everything is alright and that we are safe.
Mr. Agaba: but we promised her that the police will close the case.
Mrs. Agaba: they will do it secretly, she won’t know about it. What if they threatened her and that’s what made her to say what she said to us.
Mr. Agaba: you are right about that, i wil call the commissioner of police and have them re-open the case and they will make sure they catch all the people involved in that kidnap.
