The following day at about 9 AM.

Lor’d V: sweedy, i am so sorry my mum attacked you yesterday.
Vanessa: what is there to be sorry about? I am already used to it.
Lor’d V: but still, i am sorry for putting you through all this at the wrong time.
Vanessa: it’s okay, how is Jayjay doing.
Lor’d V: great, i really pity him.
Vanessa: i pity him too, he is going through alot now at his tender age, i just pray nothing happens to him.
Lor’d V: nothing will happen to him i believe so. Well, the both of us will go to the police station today, atleast for him to see the faces of the people that were after him and also question them.
Vanessa: can i go with you? I am tired of staying indoors.
Lor’d V: (winks) sorry baby, i will take you to somewhere romantic this evening.
Vanessa: you are dodging my question.
Lor’d V: which was?
Vanessa: can i go with you atleast to comfort Jayjay.
Lor’d V: baby, can you handle it.
Vanessa: yes i can, so should i get dressed.

9:35 AM at the Agaba’s mansion.

Jayjay: Mum, it will be alright, i am sure the killers will soon be brought to book.
Step Mum: jay, arresting the killers won’t bring your dad back.
Jayjay: but aleast, dad will get justice.
Step Mum: (sobbing) Jayjay, why will someone kill your dad, what wrong has he done?
Jayjay: Mum, this world is a wicked place, people take other people’s life for no reason, Mum, i need to tell you something.
Step Mum: jay, what happened?
Jayjay: Mum, someone tried to kill me too.
Step Mum: Jesus! How? when? I hope they didn’t hurt you.
Jayjay: i have not even seen their faces, Lordrigo helped me.
Step Mum: so how did it happen.
Jayjay: they were tracking my movement through a tracking device that they put in my wristwatch, unfortunately for them Lordrigo was smarter and he tricked them into believing i was lodged at a hotel here and that was how they were apprehended by the police when they came for me.
Step Mum: lord i thank you.
Jayjay: mum, the bad news is that the guys confessed that they were behing dads accident involving the gate man.
Step Mum: oh God! What a wicked world, so are you sure they are not behind your dad’s death.
Jayjay: i don’t know yet, i will go there this morning with Lordrigo and we will see if they have any hand in dad’s death.

Step Mum: (lamenting) what have we done to this people, why would they want to destroy this family.
Just then, Jayjay heard Lordrigo car horn outside the compound.
Jayjay: (pecks her) mum take care, the maids will prepare your food, make sure you eat okay?
Step Mum: alright take care too.

Vaness and Lordrigo were standing outside the car waiting for him when he went out.
Jayjay: what am i seeing, sassy V.
Vanessa: so you even have the strength to call me names in this kind of situation.
Jayjay: sorry, don’t mind my manners, how are you doing and how is the little Lordrigo.
Vanessa: fine, fine, sorry about your dad’s death, it is so unfortunate.
Jayjay: yeah, thanks, you came all the way here to say this, you should have just called.
Vanessa: (smiles) can’t i visit a friend again.
Lor’d V: jay, we don’t have time to waste, let’s move.
Jayjay: alright lor’d. Let’s go, i want to see those b------s with my two eyes.

It didn’t take long before they reached the police station, the Police officer that was incharge of the attempted murder case quickly got busy and gave them a quick summary of how far they have gone.
Police Officer: we have used all legal means to get them to say the name of the person behind all thise but they have refused to talk.
Vanessa: maybe they were made to take an oath or something.
Police Officer: you are right madam, i also thought so too.
Jayjay: so how will you find out who is behind this now, cos i really need to know the person.
Police officer: we will need to talk to their friends and relatives and also search their apartments and see if we can find anything reasonable.

Lor’d V: officer thanks, can we go and see them now.
Police officer: yes, you can, follow me…(leads then to the police cells)
they are in cell 4.
Jayjay: thanks officer, we will be out soon, i just need to ask them something.
Police officer: alright.
They went to the cell numbered 4 as they were directed and Jayjay meet what he never imagined.
Jayjay: You!
Vanessa: Chinedu!
Lor’d V: do you know him?
Jayjay: yes, i know him, what, are you sure he is the one?
Lor’d V: yes he is, so tell me, where do you know him from?
Jayjay: the guy i had problem with in school over Nkechi, he left school after the incident and that was the last i heard from him, i even tried to reach him several times so he could come back to school but he wasn’t reachable.
Vanessa: Chinedu, why did you try to kill Jayjay, who sent you?
He kept quiet and was sobbing quietly, all he could say amidst tears was ‘I am sorry’
