Anabelle smiled as she waved the man who seemed like the Gate handler as she drove into her company’s premises. She alighted from her car and smiled teasingly at the man again.

“How’re you Shola?” she asked the man.

“I’m fine ma!” Shola replied. “Have a nice day,”.
“Thanks o!”
she appreciated and walked fashionably away.

“Always radiant!” she heard a fellow colleague complement. “How was your night?”

“It was nice o, yours?”
She reciprocated.

“It was nice too! See you later,”.
She smiled, out of pure delight. Oh! How she enjoyed having that effect on Men! She knew that was just a tip of the ice berg. She was sure almost every co- male worker would always find a medium of interacting with her, every morning.
Jibolar was just the first. He had attempted dating her severally but though she never seemed to know how, she had a way of turning down male advances in a way that wouldn’t hurt nor inferiorise them. She thought it was a gift; a gift she felt mother Nature had bestowed on her.

She knew she didn’t have to dress overwhelmingly to have that effect. She was dressed in just a simple Sky blue Shirt over a knee-halted flanelled skirt. Her hair was seemingly glowing like it was adorned with stars. Her face seemed like it reflected perfect peace; an extraordinary form of peace.

As she walked in her personal office, a smile escaped her lips as she remembered the last night’s events. The stupefied state she was able to induce generated a huge volume of joy within her. She knew whenever she was really happy within, she would smile oft uncousciously and from what she felt could be called experience, such smiles were oft very charming. Her date had gone very smooth. The fun she felt they had wasn’t a child’s thing. Ofcourse, she chosed the venue she considered best. Fun in an exquisite high classed recreation center had always been her favorite idea of a date, so she felt a night out in such center was the best. It had turned out well, probably the best she had ever had. But a particular thing seemed to bother her, whenever Daniel talked about his sister, he always seemed sad or dry. Maybe she was reading the sign wrong but she definitely knew something was ominous about her. Well, everything had gone her way.

She had even wake up late, something she thought always occured whenever she was joyous.

Her door clicked open and a head popped in.
“Whats up Ola?” she shrilled.
“I dey fine o, You?” Ola replied.
“Fine jare!”
“Mmm, anyone can see that with the look on your face na, money don show?”
“O serious ( you aren’t serious )! Wetin dey jare?”
She smiled.

“Well, the Boss wants you in his office! See you later,”.

She stood up promptly and left the office after Ola. As she walked in her Boss’s office, she was very happy, but she couldn’t say why.

“Good morning sire,” she greeted, curtseying a little.

“Morning Ana. Have a seat!”
“Thank you sir!”
she took a seat on one of the black executive roller chairs sitting idly beside her boss’s table.

“So, how’re you doing?” she heard him continue.

“I’m OKay sir,” she replied.

“The company has a little information for you,”.

Seeing her boss striving to appear so proffessional, almost made her explode with laughter. With a seemingly ropey Tie on his dark stout neck, he looked really comical. He had tried to woo her also but he had failed. He had nothing to write home about albeit probably the fact she granted him the audience of taking her out.

“Continue sir,” she said, really trying to stifle laughter.

“Well, we have this for you,” he informed and stretched out a white envelope towards her. “Digest its’ contents,”.
She collected the envelope and hastily open the seal on it. Its’ content seemed like a letter.

She raised it to her face to read. Her boss stared at her, somewhat amused by her little display.

“Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!” she gave out loud shouts of joy. “Sir, it’s a promotion, a promotion!” she yelled out.

“Yeah Anabelle, you deserve it”. He conjured. “Congratulations” He stretched his hand for a congratulatory shake.

“Thanks sir!” Anabelle shook her boss’s waiting hand joyously.

“Congratulations Ana! You truly deserve it,” she heard a voice that seemed like Ola’s behind her and she turned. Staring right at her with smiles were all colleague of hers’.

Unconsciously, a tear drop ran down her cheek.[
