Fabian was surprise to have woken up on his bed, he soon felt a sharp pain at the back of his head, it was a bit swollen, he wondered what had happened. He was relieved on seeing the book was still on the table, he walked through the yard in his white Jalabia, the students, stewards and few Islamic clerics greeted him as they walked pass in hurry to their various destinations. His grandfather’s compound was more like a community, spacious and occupied with buildings; his vision was to build what was to be an ‘Islamic Village’, a center of Islamic knowledge and that, he had achieved through many years of dedication.

“Wallaikum salam!” Fabian would nod his head in reply as they greeted, he occasional shock hands if stretched towards him. He observed they were more new face around and less of the ones he had grown to know.

The morning air freely sank through his pores, he felt refreshed as he gently made his way towards the mosque for Salat. He observed his prayer and there he remembered in a flash what he saw the night before, he wouldn’t want to belief it, neither think of it nor talk about it any longer to Mustapha, all he then desire was to get out of the mosque, go to Mustapha and tell him about his plans to going back to his normal way of life in London. He tries hard to get it off his mind but it kept playing in his mind, the blood, the monsters, the slaughtering, the body parts, and the screams…all kept rushing back.

On his way out of the mosque, he felt a strong hand tap his shoulder, He turned to look but saw no one, he realized he had been the only one inside of it all along; he dashed out looking very frightened.

On getting to Mustapha’s apartment, he saw him reciting the Quran outside his room. Both men ‘salama’ to themselves and sheared the morning compliment. Mustapha ordered his steward to help Fabian get a cold coffee.

“I see you do not remember what happened last night” Mustapha said

“What happened?” Fabian inquired looking worried

“I found you lay unconscious on the floor in your room last night as I had came visiting, I had to carry you on your bed, it appeared you saw more than your heart could absorb last night, isn’t it?”

“Yes” he nodded as he recollected the events.

“Would you mind sharing to me Brother Abu-Bakr?” he requested as he gazed into Fabian’s eyes like he wishes to see through his soul.
Fabian looked away, he felt like not saying anything to anyone, not all the evil he had seen committed by the Man and his beasts from heaven. Reluctantly, he narrated it all to Mustapha who paid rapt attention to his every word. He went ahead and also told him his plans to traveling back to London two days time, he was long overdue for return. He wanted to tell of what happened in the mosque but he refrained knowing how foolish that could sound.

“I can’t stop you from leaving can I? But I’m sure you would be of greater help to the Muslim Ummah here in the Islamic village your grandfather the Sheikh had founded”

“As much as I wish to stay, I also have a life over there…maybe I would reconsider someday”

Fabian soon made it back to his apartment and on opening his door; he had that usual unmistakeable feeling that something wasn’t right, everything was at it place the way he had left it but he was certain something weird had gone wrong. It took him six ours later to discover that all his traveling documents were missing and another seven hours to realize that the Book of Secrets had its chapter three missing…it had been torn off the book.
