Must Read: King Arthur

I woke up around 3 or 4am, I wanted to pee. When I got to the toilet, after urinating. I was hearing a strange noise, I went to the room and searched for Emeka so I could tell him what I just heard but he was not there. I then took Segun, Sade’s date with me. Segun although teachers referred to as a bench warmer, he was Master of pranks and tricks. We went there and I could still hear the sound but this time they were talking. It sounded like Laura’s Voice, the guy was definitely Emeka. We passed unnoticed to check if Pearl was in her room but to our utter most shock Pearl was in another classroom with Max, Maxado, her junior. She knew just how to lower her self.

She was here with Max, her boyfriend was there with Laura, what a couple. It was time to execute Segun’s Ultimate prank as he called it.

First was Emeka and Laura. We tiptoed to the class and made sure they were still inside then we locked the door from the outside, they still did not know.

We approached the other classroom and locked Pearl and Max, we left still unnoticed, to look for more victims.

I was shocked when I heard a familiar voice, I knew the voice I heard in the corridor, it was Vanessa’s. She was talking to someone, I could not hear the other voice. Vanessa of all people, no its not possible, I trust her. She was actually talking with someone on the phone.

I went to sleep, feeling relaxed and eased.

I was awaken the next morning by a cry for help, I looked at segun he was also awake, this time smiling broadly. Let’s go before another person goes there, I said to him.

I went to rescue Emeka and Laura while segun went to rescue Pearl and Max.

We opened the doors almost immediately and acting so innocent they thanked us. Unfortunately Pearl saw Emeka with Laura while Emeka noticed that Pearl was with Max, it dawned on both of them that they had be cheating on each other.
They were too ashamed to say anything. I knew Emeka was going to Pounce on Our young musician Max, I held him back while Segun told Max to go. #BUSTED. Laura was angry after she discovered that she was a side chick, Pearl felt same way too. But neither of them could say anything, Max looked so innocent, tears flowed freely from his eyes when he discovered that Pearl was also dating Emeka. Pearl wanted to apologise but it was too late Max walked away, Laura was also very angry. When Segun came closer, I said “I feel guilty” he looked at me and said “its better they see the truth without having to hear it”. He looked at me and said “After all I am not a bench warmer” I smiled. I went to look for vanessa, we had a little chat and then it was time to go home, then she said “no peck for me” I leaned towards her and did as she requested. *I wanted her to reciprocate but did she?. NO*

I arrived home 30 minutes after I left school greeted my parents and sis then I went to bed.
My bed felt so warm. I slept so quick.

‘Pearl called me, to thank me for what I did, I tried to apologise but she was not angry.

I looked up at the person in front of me, I saw the same trinkets Pearl had on, on the person’s hand, but this time, it glowed like gold. I raised my head to look at who it was, when Bisi sprinkled cold water in my face and said; wake up am going oo, bye I said. It was another dream. I had slept for almost 2 hours, as it was now almost 11:30am. I brushed my teeth properly, unpacked my suit and the rest from my bag. I had my bath and ate breakfast, Mum and Dad were out for a wedding, Bisi had gone to school, Sis Eniola was nowhere to be found, around the house, I concluded that she must have gone shopping.

I picked up my phone to call Vanessa, but her number was switched off. She was last seen on whatsapp at 9:53am. I decided to send her a romantic text message. Girls love romance a lot, don’t know why, but for sure i think it is because Adam was romantic and Eve loved it, just kidding.

I looked at the pictures we took together, then I saw one with Emeka and Pearl, instantly, I started having that strong feeling of guilt. I called Emeka, but he was busy on another call. Pearl’s line went through, I could tell that she was in urgent need of a good sleep, from the way her voice sounded. I asked her how she was doing and if she and Emeka had talked about it. She did not give me a satisfying answer instead she kept on beating around the bush.

I then asked her who it was going to be Max or Emeka, she was confused, like she had someone else in mind. I instantly knew that she had more than two boyfriends (this girl sha, shey she wan dey sell boys?) Someone was calling her from the background, it was her Mom, I ended the call with a big sigh.

I tried Vanessa’s line, this time it rang but it was not answered. Ok she will call back I said to myself. I waited all through for her to return the calls but she didn’t. I felt bad, just like the text that wasn’t returned but then I said “it nothing, after all we only started dating a while ago”. Wait she must have received the text I sent her a while ago.

I called Sade and told her about me and Vanessa. Sade was like the only person who I could run to, in times of bloom and gloom. She was always there but this days she seems so withdrawn, I wonder why.

She wasn’t surprised at all “after all you love each other” was what she said. We talked about random stuffs and then Pearl and Laura, the battle for Emeka as she put it. I told her I was the one who did the whole stuff, me and Segun. “Evil child, well ‘sha’ serves them right” was the next thing she said, it relieved that feeling of guilt a little, I still felt guilty. Meanwhile thoughts of why Vanessa was not answering her phone or replying the texts were killing me. It went on and on for a very long time, I never really asked her why. I soon made up my mind not to call or send her any kind of text message again. Because it was of no use, since they were never replied.
