They were now obviously cut off on bothsides, their burning vehicles behind them and Ibinabo infront them.

Chido had never seen such a hopeless situation in his life, neither did he expect the hopelessness of their situation to be reflected on Ben’s face. Ben the hardman had had enough, he was obviously finished.

Even blackmamba looked bad from his injury, only Tonie remained aloof and articulated as he backed fresh orders. Then he went to all of them one by one telling them “we won’t die here. It’s not yet our time. Come brother’s fight with me one last time”.

Though their situation was hopeless but they managed to summon up the last ounce of strength they didn’t have and launched a counterattack, their last attempt.

Chido didn’t know what gave them such courage, if it was because they didn’t have any option anymore but to fight or die or if it was out of desperation. All of a sudden, the mighty force Ibinabo had didn’t seem so scary anymore.

Chido’s group returned fire for fire, bullet for bullet. Sammysmart was cut down when an RPG blew up where he was crouched.

He fell back wounded but not dead by now Tonie had ordered a full scale retreat again so they couldn’t get to sammy who was behind enemy lines.

Chido/Ben/Tonie/Black mamba/the twins had to watch in horror as Ibinabo finished him off with two shoots to the head.

By now Tonie’s forces were in shambles. The death of Sammysmart had disorganised them and broken their moral. It looked now like it was all person for himself.

Tonie grabbed black mamba by the arm and helped him up, gave a sign to Chido and Ben to follow and he ordered his group to disband and run for it. Their group scattered like when u throw sachet water on a hard suffer.

Tonie moved fast into the nearby bushes trying to retrace his way in the dark looking for the direction that takes them towards the airport where his father’s Lear jet was parked. He had a remnant of his bodyguards there and he knew if he could just get there.
He would be safe.

It took the good part of almost 2 hours before they finally came onto a clearing and they could see another part of the main road leading to the airport. As they came unto the road which initially appeared empty.

They were surprised to see Ibinabo himself standing infront of one of his cars with just a handful of his boys. It was obvious Ibinabo was well informed and had planned well.

Ibinabo was all smiles as one would expect.
He had crushed Tonie’s group almost completely and now had his two targets right before him.

He looked at them and smiled saying “this will teach u to never bite more than u can eat. I will kill all of you but Tonie. I have more horrible plans for you so you”.

Ibinabo ordered his men to shoot but Tonie let out a crazy scream and started shooting immediately. Ben who had by now sobered up alittle, though still numb by the events but as always was fast on the trigger cos he supported Tonie.

Between them they brought 4 of the 6 men ibinabo had with him down as Ibinabo had made the mistake to spread his forces thin. As Ben turned to Ibinabo, they both shot themselves at the sametime. Ben’s shot seemed to phase past Ibinabo or Ibinabo seem to phase past the bullet, Chido could not tell which one but Ibinabo’s shot met it’s target.

Ben’s face blew up as if in pieces and Ben screeched from the pain turning around from the impact of the shot. As he did, Chido could see half of his face had been blown away.

A scream left Chido’s throat “BBBBBBBeeeeennnnn”!!!
