Early in the morning, after an uncomfortable sleep under the bed, i woke Teresa up ”baby, wake up oh, 5don knack” tapping her body.*

Teresa: *sleeping mood* pls i want to sleep. Just go.

Me:: chineke , so i don become ashawo wey you go just use come dey tell am ”just go” see wake up from there oh.

She was still doing like a mid day dreamer when i poured her the water that i saw in the jug.

Teresa: you re still here?

Me:: before nko, i be witch. U no even tell me story say i slept under this ur bed. Infact., come show me road make i go before day go bright.

She led the way while i followed. We tiptoed into the main parlor ”Dont make any sound” she said.

Me:: hmm.

Finally , we succeeded from getting away through that gate, going for the second. ” the gateman is still there, what re we going to do” i asked Teresa.

Teresa: dont worry., i have an idea. Just hide.

She walk toward the gate man, tapped him on his body and the guy woke up.

Gateman: small madam, na wetin?

Teresa: am hearing a noise coming from that window facing the backyard. Pls check it out.

While the man went to check out what’s going on over there , he dropped the keys to the gate on his chair. Immediately he left, Teresa collected the keys, opened the gate for me, off i went. It concerns her and the gateman, wetin concern me be say i don waka leave their house. It was already 5:30am when i called my mother to opened the gate for me. ”how was the tarry nite” she asked.

” it was ok mum. I really need to sleep.” i said as i walked pass her,

waec date has already drawn closer, chuks burying his head on his book was just the best to avoid any Teresa disturbing him , and teresa’s dad sizing her phone made any chuks not to contact her. During the first day of the exam, the girl who sat beside me never for once said no to any of my questions to her. ”hey, close ur book, they might think that am copying from you” i said to her.

Her:, or re you not copying from me *smiling face*

Me:: am not copying anything from you. I only asked you a question……..

Stop making that noise there” the invigilator said.
Her: ok you win. *low tone*

After the exam of the day, i was about going home when i heard someone shouting my name. I turned back., and it was the same girl that sat beside me.

Me:: why you shouting my name, and besides, who told you my name?

Her: who told me ur name? Well, i got ur name from ur script.

Me:: oh, have forgotten. So what’s ur own name * i asked as we walk down the school gate.

Her: am mira.

Me:: ok ooh, see you 2moro. Abeg ooh, read ur books.

Mira: you too.

We parted ways as she went right and i went right. . I got home, the message Teresa sent to me with another number got my attention ”hope ur paper was successful”.??? ”yes it was and urs” i sent her back. For few hours, i didn’t get a reply from her.

The exams has almost gotten to its final point, my friendship with mira wants to turn into something else, something only she knows.
She has already expressed her feelings for me through an sms she sent me. ”what’s even wrong with this girl, i dont love her can’t she just leave me alone”.
