The next morning, Phillip is seen in the sitting room of Mr and Mrs Williams, he was called by his father yesterday evening informing him that Mr Williams Richardson wants to meet with him that morning, he wondered what could be that urgent that he couldn’t call himself, well that was what he is about to find out, he waited patiently and not less them few minutes Mrs Williams came to the sitting room, he got up immediately.

PHILLIP
Good morning ma’am

MRS WILLIAMS
(Smiling)
Good morning how are you doing.

PHILLIP
Am doing fine ma’am.

MRS WILLIAMS
Don’t worry, my husband will soon be here
Just then Mr Williams walked into the sitting room.

MRS WILLIAMS
Ah, he is already here.

Mr Williams approaches them.

PHILLIP
Good morning sir.

Mr Williams and Phillip exchange pleasantries with an handshake.

MR WILLIAMS
Please sit down
They all sat down.

MR WILLIAMS
What can we offer you.

PHILLIP

MR WILLIAMS
That’s alright, so sorry for the urgent call, hope you are not offended.

PHILLIP
Not at all, I have been looking forward of meeting you so it an honour to be sited here today in your presence.

MR WILLIAMS

(Cleared his throat)

You may not know the reason why I called you but am going to go to the point, I haven’t met with you but I have heard at least enough things about you, I was told you are my daughter fiance, and both of you got engaged back in UK.

PHILLIP
Yes sir, up to three years now.

MR WILLIAMS
Yes, that I was told, you are not a kid anymore so is my daughter but you could have meet with me first before putting her in a family way, if you understand.

PHILLIP
(Confused)
I am trying too but I still don’t sir.

MRS WILLIAMS
Has my daughter spoken with you about anything.

PHILLIP
No ma’am
(Anxious)
Please, what is going on.

MR WILLIAMS
My daughter is pregnant

This came as a big shock and surprised to him, he was silent for sometime, trying to process what he just heard.

PHILLIP

MRS WILLIAMS
Natasha is pregnant.

PHILLIP
Oh my God

He place is two hands on his face, he couldn’t believe this, he still can’t believe what they were saying, mrs Williams observes this.

MRS WILLIAMS
Are you alright

PHILLIP
Natasha can’t be pregnant.

MR WILLIAMS
Are you trying to make us look like fools.

PHILLIP
No sir but there is some mix up somewhere, please I need to see Natasha.

MRS WILLIAMS
What is going on.

PHILLIP
Ma’am I have never gone to bed with Natasha, so how can she be pregnant.
Mr and Mrs Williams looked at each other with confusion written in their eyes.

MR WILLIAMS
What are you saying, or are you trying to run away from your responsibility.

PHILLIP
(Disappointed)
With all due respect sir, I love your daughter with my life, and I will be the happiest man on each if she is pregnant for me because it will make things even faster, but am not, please let me speak to her, please.

Mr Williams looked at Phillip calmly.

MR WILLIAMS
Darling please go and call your daughter.

MRS WILLIAMS

Mrs Williams left to get Natasha, Phillip was lost in thought, he didn’t believe what Natasha parents were saying, he trusts Natasha so much, maybe something was wrong, he was still in thought when Natasha walked in.

Natasha was shocked to see Phillip, she was in her room when her mother came to call her telling her that her father wants to see her, she wouldn’t have come if she knew Phillip was around, Phillip immediately got to his feet when he saw Natasha, Mrs Williams sat down observing what will happen, Phillip walk to Natasha, Natasha could see the pain in his eyes and she knew then that he knows.

PHILLIP
Hey

Natasha was silent, she bend her head down because she just couldn’t look at that cold eyes of Phillip, the pain in there was killing her.

PHILLIP
Your parents said something but I didn’t believe them because I need to hear from you, remember the promise that we will never believe anything that anyone says except it comes from us.

Natasha shut her eyes to stop the tear from coming out.

PHILLIP
Tell me it not true, please.( in tear)
Baby, (hold her hands)

NATASHA

Phillip felt like his heart has been pull out from his chest, he slowly drop Natasha hands and step backward, he covers his mouth to stop his from screaming.

PHILLIP
(Calmly)

NATASHA
(In tear)

PHILLIP
So there was really another guy, Jesus, I can’t believe this, three years Natasha, three years of my loyalty, three years I gave you my love, three years I gave you everything I have, and this is the way you show your gratitude.

NATASHA

Trying to touch Phillip but he moved backward

PHILLIP
Don’t touch me, don’t come any closer, you said we should wait, and I was ready to because I love you, we have come a long way together for Christ sake, I can’t believe this is happening.

NATASHA

PHILLIP
Why did you do this to us, I thought we were good together, what went wrong, you wanted to break up with me, that’s why you wanted to see me.

NATASHA

PHILLIP
You betrayed me, you have broken me, God

NATASHA

PHILLIP
I don’t think there is anything to explain, you have already written it boldly on the wall, and I will be so stupid not to accept it.

With this he walked so fast out of the sitting room, more minutes could break him more, the pain he was feeling was something he just couldn’t handle, Mr and Mrs Williams didn’t bother to stop him because they know he was hurt, Natasha couldn’t even stop him, what was she going to say, every words that came out of Phillip’s mouth was like a Sharp spare stab deeply into her heart, what has she done, it was now coming to her now, she has already let the only man that could have stood by her to slip away just because she thought keeping it away from him was the best option.

Mr Williams who has been watching the whole drama finally stood up in anger.

MR WILLIAMS
Hey you, now listen to me, I don’t have anything to say to you, but I am giving you now still tomorrow if you don’t provide the man responsible for that pregnancy then be prepare to have no family.

Mrs Williams looked at her husband in shock as mr Williams left the sitting room, she knew her husband meant every words he just said, she needs to do something first.
