The noises coming from the Richardson sitting room was that of a market place, Natasha is seen on her knee weeping holding the right left of her father who was sitting down tapping his left leg continually on the floor, Mrs Williams is sited at the side of her husband, both mother and father are begging Mr Williams who heart was still hard as rock, he didn’t even look at their faces, he was bend on carrying out what he said he will do, Natasha was leaving his house that minutes if she doesn’t reveal the father of the unborn child, obviously to him Natasha don’t know who the father of the child is, he has already ordered the maids to arrange Natasha’s belongings, Natasha was weeping heavily, she didn’t know where to go to if she is throw out of the house, she can’t go to Phillip’s place, and Julie is out of town, she can’t stay in a hotel because she knows her father will froze her account, that’s if he hasn’t already done it, Mrs Williams is trying all she could to change her husband mind, she knows her husband heart, that his yes is always a yes and its very difficult to go back to his words.

MRS WILLIAMS
(Crying)
Honey please, am begging you, she is your daughter, your blood.

MR WILLIAMS
(Angry)
She seized to be my daughter the day she decided to bring disgrace to this family, how can a grown woman like her don’t know who impregnated her.

NATASHA
Daddy please, I don’t have anywhere to go.

MR WILLIAMS
Go and meet the man responsible for your pregnancy, that’s if you know the father.

MRS WILLIAMS
Honey please, don’t do this ooo, she is still sick for crying out life.

MR WILLIAMS
As if I care, did I cause the sickness.
Just then Nathaniel walked in, all eyes fell on him, he was shocked to see Natasha on her knee crying, it was like they shoot him straight in the heart.

NATHANIEL
What is going on here.

MRS WILLIAMS
Nath please talk to your father, talk to him.

NATHANIEL
Dad, what’s going on.

MR WILLIAMS
Look at your sister, just look at her very well, she has brought disgrace to this house.
Nathaniel was so confused, his eyes fell on Natasha who was still on her knee crying, he couldn’t place his finger on anything but he knew something was wrong.

MR WILLIAMS
Natasha, go on tell your beloved brother what you have done.

Natasha was silent, just her cry can be heard.

MR WILLIAMS
(Shouted)
Will you open your mouth now and tell your brother what you did before I change the position of your face with a slap.
Natasha moved backward in fear.

NATASHA
(Stammering)
I…. am… pregnant.

The news hit Nathaniel like a big rock, he didn’t need anyone to tell him that he was responsible, he was so weak to stand, he found the nearest couch, sitting down he rest his head on his two hands, truly this was a big disgrace but the difference is that he was the one that brought it.

MR WILLIAMS
And guess what, your sister don’t know who is responsible because Phillip is not the father.

Nathaniel looked at his sister in pity, she now know why she wanted to take her life, this cross was to heavy for her to bare alone.

NATHANIEL
(Almost in tear)
So what the next step.

MR WILLIAMS
What step, she is leaving my house today.
Nathaniel was surprise to hear that.

MRS WILLIAMS
Your father wants to disown your sister because she refuse to mention who impregnated her, tell me how is that fair, where will she go.

MR WILLIAMS
Yes and I mean it.

NATHANIEL
She can’t leave father, where will she go to.

MR WILLIAMS
To the man that got her pregnant

NATHANIEL
Dad, she is going no where.

MR WILLIAMS
Are you mad, I can see that all your brains are not working, if you want me to change my mind then tell her to mention the man’s name, do you know the what people will say if my own daughter got impregnated by no one, she want to give birth to a b-----d in my house, hell no.

Nathaniel angrily got up.

NATHANIEL
(Angrily)
So you are going to throw her out now because she can’t mention the man responsible for the pregnancy, are you that heartless, is it that you care about what people will say instead of the safety of your own daughter.

They were all surprised to what Nathaniel said, Mrs Williams looked at her husband and then back to Nathaniel, she knew both have same angry problem, she was waiting for what will happen next, Natasha couldn’t believe that Nathaniel could speak up to their dad all because of her, Nathaniel lost it, how can a father be so concern on his reputation then his daughter’s life, sending out a pregnant girl out on the street was act of wickedness, he was looking straight at his father who was also staring at him with horror, Mr Williams angrily got up, Mrs Williams stood up too.

MR WILLIAMS
How dare you talk to me like that, have you gone mad, who the hell are you to raise your voice at me, me your father.

As he was saying this he was moving slowly towards Nathaniel while mrs Williams was trying to hold him back to cause any problem.

NATHANIEL
I have the right to talk to you because I am your son, and she is your daughter, yes we might bring disgrace to you but that doesn’t mean we are not family, you too brought disgrace to your parents once but you are still bearing their name.

A loud sound echo round the whole sitting room, Mrs Williams place her hands to cover her mouth, Natasha was too shock to say anything, Nathaniel looked at his father with surprise and hurt in his eyes, he still can’t believe his father just slapped his, since he was a child this is the first time his father has raised his hands on him.

MRS WILLIAMS
(Shouted)
Williams

NATHANIEL
You slapped me

MR WILLIAMS
And I will slap you again if you open that gutter you call a mouth to talk to me like that, I am still you father, what have I not done for you all, what, is there anything that you lack, no there is nothing but yet you people always want to bring disgrace to the name of this family, why, why.

Pain and disappointed was heard through his voice, Nathaniel felt every words he said, his father was right, he has everything but yet the only thing that he desire most became an abomination, he has made up his mind to tell his parents about the evil he has done but with Natasha pregnant it was hard to say, his legs got wake, at that moment the maids began to ascend the stair carrying Natasha bags, Nathaniel immediately got on his knee.

NATHANIEL
(In tear)
Dad please, don’t send her out, please, I beg you, please.

MR WILLIAMS
I have made my decision.

NATHANIEL
I can’t let you dad, mum.
Mrs Williams quietly sat down, she was in pain, she was speechless, she has try all she could as a mother, if only Natasha could just say something, it could save every one this trouble, seeing his mum was silent, he focus on his father.

NATHANIEL
Dad, dad, please, I will do anything you want me to do, just let her stay, she will tell you, okey this evening, let me talk to her please.

MR WILLIAMS
If the bags are all down, James.
James who has been on the door entrance ran in, James was the personal guard to Mr Williams.

JAMES
Yes sir.

MR WILLIAMS
Take Natasha to the gate, on no account should anyone open the gate for her, and as for you, (pointing at Natasha) as you step out of this house you seize to me counted among the Richardson families, take her away.

JAMES
yes sir

NATHANIEL
No, no no, please dad, please, don’t do this, I beg you, please.

Natasha has stopped crying, she wasn’t ready to tell anyone the father of the child that will even bring more shame to the family, so she accepted her fate, she didn’t struggle as james helped her up.

NATHANIEL
(Shouting)
Dad, please, I will do anything, Natasha say something, mum, dad please.

Nathaniel knew his father words were final, he couldn’t leave with this, how can his sister go through all this because of him, his heart could no longer take it.

NATHANIEL
Dad, I know who is responsible, I know….
He quickly stop because of the shape pain he felt in his chest, he holds his chest, he was trying to bare the pain, Mrs Williams who was going inpatient already got up.

MRS WILLIAMS
If you know please do say.

Nathaniel tried to speak again but the pain came again but this time more painful then before he couldn’t hold it.

NATHANIEL
(Scream in pain)
Ahhhhhhhh, ahhhhh
With that he fell to the ground, mr and Mrs Williams rushed to him.

MRS WILLIAMS
Son, what is it, talk to me what.

MR WILLIAMS
Get the car ready.

Natasha ran to Nathaniel, holding his hand tightly, in as much as hate his, he is still her bother seeing him in pain hurts her heart, Nathaniel couldn’t stop screaming, the pain was too much for him to bare, at that moment, he thought of his mother, father, and his sister, he regretted his actions but yet the love for Natasha was still there because it was real, it wasn’t lust he knows, and he just hope God can forgive him, he was going to make it right if he comes out of this pain, he hold on to Natasha hands, without being told he knows it was hers, with a light smile he fell unconscious, mrs Williams was already crying bitterly, they quickly rush him to the hospital with Natasha sitting close to Nathaniel on the back sit.
