Crush to crash - Season 1 - Episode 26

You can go into the kitchen and prepare anything you fancy, whiles I take a little rest in my bedroom. He added and oriented me to the house.

I stayed indoors thinking through the stress I had gone through until afternoon when Pastor Otu knocked on my door.
Meshac are you there? He asked.
I hurriedly attended to him.

Yes Pastor, I am here. I responded.

I am leaving the house. I am going to the FM station to preach. I will visit some of my church members afterwards. I will see you later in the evening. Please don’t starve yourself. He said and walked away.

I also walked to the gate to converse with the security guard.

Hello bro, my name is Meshac. What is yours? I asked.

Call me Yaw. I am the security guard of this noble house. The only lucky person to work for a whole Pastor Otu. He introduced back.
Wow. You sound confident and happy for this job. What makes it so special working for Pastor Otu? I inquired.

My brother, Pastor Otu is not any ordinary pastor. He is a true man of God. Very rich, but humble.

Have you seen his church and the number of congregation he has? He asked.

Not yet. Tell me more about it. I responded.
He owns one of the biggest churches in this city.

He preaches on radio and television, yet, he wakes up every dawn to preach with a megaphone. He is actually doing the work of God. He narrated.

In spite of all these wealth and fame, he is single without fornicating.

He has no maid servants. The only person he has is me, as a security guard. He continued.
So, because he is rich and famous, that is why you are working for him as a security guard? What prevents him from sending you to school? I asked.

Meshac, he has done that already. I am a university graduate. He paid all my fees till I completed.

I still offered to be his security guard, and he also offered to pay me a heart soothing salary, which is better than the salary of most government workers. He explained.

I can’t believe this! A graduate working as a security guard? Instead of being in an office? I exclaimed in shock.

Meshac, can I ask you a simple question? He asked.

Just go ahead. I responded.

Meshac, if you travel oversees, will you like to work as a security guard or wonder on the streets in a jobless state? He asked.

Why won’t I take that offer? I will readily do it because that is the States. Besides, the salary will be mouth watery. I responded.

How much salary do you expect as a security guard in the states. He asked.

Of course, not less than 1000cedis.

I responded boastfully.

Well, for your information, Pastor Otu pays me 1500cedis at the end of every month. So I don’t fancy any other job.

The only thing I fancy right now is to support him in prayers to grow his ministry. He responded.

This sounds great. I simply can’t believe this. Then he is a good person. I shamefully responded.

Meshac, if your definition for a good person is because he gives you money, then I am sorry to tell you that, you will live a life of disappointment.

A good person is the one who serves as a link between you and God.

A good person is the one whose wish is to see you in heaven someday.

A good person is the one who feeds your hungry stomach with food, your hungry ears with words of wisdom, your sad life with everlasting joy and your lost soul with the word of God.

A good person is Pastor Otu. Yaw preached.
You’ve spoken well Yaw. I still don’t know why I think of worldly things.

I have gone through death, yet, God brought me back to life. I don’t see the reason why I still have to live my life as a sinner.

You’ve really spoken peace into my heart, and I thank you very much. May God bless you. I responded humbly..

Meshac, may I know who you are? How did you get to know Pastor Otu? He inquired.
It is a long story my brother. Let’s just say, he picked me from the streets. I responded.
Oh I see. Then he will send you to one of his church deacons to stay with you and groom you.

All the people he picked from the streets are with his church deacons. Yaw explained.
No Yaw! I don’t want to leave this house. I want to stay with Pastor Otu. I want him to teach me his ways to be like him. Please talk to him on my behalf. I pleaded.

Meshac, what you are asking for is very difficult. He doesn’t entertain people in this house.

He told me that, the only person he will stay with, is his future wife and kids. That is why he has even not employed any maid servants. He does his cooking and cleaning all by himself. Yaw explained.

If you want to stay in this house, then I suggest you talk to him when he returns from evangelism. He suggested.

I went back into my room in prayers.

God please, I have repented, and I need a true man of God like Pastor Otu to father me. Please touch his heart to accommodate me here. I prayed nervously.

Two hours after, he returned from town.

Meshac, are you there? Please pack up your belongings, one of my deacons is coming to pick you up to his house. Pastor Otu talked to me through the window.

Quickly, I went out and knelt down before him in tears.
