EU Offers €150m To Support Power Sector

A delegation from the European Union (EU) which visited the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) in Abuja, yesterday, has disclosed the availability of €150 million grants for the Nigeria’s power sector.

The leader of the delegation, Mr Peter Cameron, while addressing the chairman of the NERC and other management staff of the commission, informed that the delegation was in the country to assess possible areas that the EU could be of assistance in helping to solve the power supply challenge.

He stated that the delegation has been around the country during which time they have had interaction with other stakeholders in the sector. He said that the meeting with the NERC is intended to round off their consultations to enable the EU to be properly guided on the possible areas of assistance.
