We Are Still Probing Sheriff - Jonathan

Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan has come out and vehemently denied traveling with Borno state governor, Ali Modu Sheriff to Chad to meet with Chadian President, Idris Derby, and discuss terrorism
Jonathan revealed that he was well aware of the allegations levelled on the former Borno state governor for allegedly funding terrorist group Boko Haram.

Jonathan said that he was waiting for the Nigerian Security Service to finish probing the Sheriff and know the outcome.
This was released in a statement by the presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati yesterday and revealed that the reason why Sherif was in Chad was just to welcome Jonathan to the foreign land.

Sheriff was accused of funding Boko Haram by Australian Negotiator, Stephen Davies.
Who said that the former Borno governor was one of the major sponsors of the evil terrorist group who have killed thousands of innocent citizens and made many homeless.
The DSS had last week confirmed that they are actively probing the former governor following the allegation by an Australian clergy and negotiator, Stephen Davis.

But in Abati statement, he said:“ Those who associate with Senator Sheriff know that he has longstanding interests in Chad and often spends a lot of his time there.He happened to be in Ndjamena at the time of President Jonathan’s visit and joined other Nigerian residents of the Chadian capital in coming to the airport to welcome their President.
“That was the full extent of his participation in the visit and it was also at Ndjamena Airport that the pictures which formed the basis of the bogus allegation of President Jonathan hobnobbing with an ‘accused sponsor of terrorism’ were taken.
“The former governor’s presence in Chad was certainly not at President Jonathan’s instance and he did not participate in any of the President’s discussions with President Idriss Deby or his other engagements in Ndjamena.”
Davies was said to have been hired by the DSS to help negotiate the freedom of the Chibok school girls abducted by Boko Haram in Chibok on April 14.
Many had criticized president Jonathan after pictures of him with Sheriff and Chadian President surfaced online.
