How Wizkid Sony Deal Stopped Davido From Releasing New Music Projects
Reports have confirmed that Wizkid has put pen to paper on a mega deal with Sony Music Entertainment and RCA Records, on Tuesday 13th of September 2016.

According to media sources;

'It is a deal worth a ‘mindblowing’ amount, bigger than any African has ever signed with the music giants'

The pop star had earlier been reported to have signed a global deal, which according to media report, 'is the biggest ever deal signed by an African, which dwarfs that of Davido with Sony Music'.

“There’s something big coming up for Wizkid, and it happened while he was in America. The deal will be the biggest ever signed by an African, and signifies progress for the music business on the continent,” the source says.

The source also confirms that plans are in motion to announce this deal spectacularly, with many outlets reporting that Sony Music is involved.

This moved has made Sony Music push back its other Nigerian act, Davido to the sideline as they don't want clashing of publicity.

Davido was supposed to drop his double EP Son of Mercy and a new video, his collaboration with Tinashe 'How long' which was billed to be released on September 9, just two days after Wizkid dropped his latest jam, 'U don't Know'
with his american bae, Justine Skye.

According to sources, Sony would rather not have two Nigeria-America collaborations hitting the world market on the same day, and competing against each other.

Wizkid, who runs his own label imprint Star Boy has been making steady waves with his numerous collaborations with international artistes such as Drake, Sean Paul, Swiss Beatz, Chris Brown and more.

There are also industry rumours that Universal Music was also working on a mega deal with Wizkid but lost the bid to Sony.
