Fellaini hits back after spitting accusations
The Manchester United midfielder was involved in an altercation with Sergio Aguero during Sunday's derby at the Etihad Stadium, but feels a story has been invented by the media
Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has hit back at claims he spat at Sergio Aguero during Manchester City's win over the Red Devils.
Fellaini was accused of spitting at Aguero as he expressed his displeasure at the forward going to ground in the penalty area with the score still goalless.
Though Louis van Gaal defended his player post-match, Fellaini himself felt the need to hit back at media reports that suggested he spat at the Premier League's top goalscorer.

He wrote on Twitter: "The press loves to invent the stories when there aren't any. Thanks the journalist. #ferity #tospit."

Fellani could yet face a suspension if he is found guilty of spitting, with Hull City's George Boyd banned for three matches last season after a similar incident involving Joe Hart.
