The minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige have made the stand of the Federal Government known on the national warning strike embarked by ASUU.
This he made known at the state house after a federal executive council meeting presided over by President Mohammadu Buhari when asked by correspondents.
The strike which was embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities after their national executive council meeting at Enugu and a 2 weeks strike was then declared.
He expressed his shock on Monday after reading of the strike. He noted that ASUU didn't give the Federal government a mandatory notice before going on strike.
After terming the strike a dilemma, he then discussed solutions to the dilemma. According to him, the ASUU executives have been invited to a meeting on Thursday along with the minister of education, the minister of finance and the accountant general of the federation.
He then noted that the way forward will be discussed as no employee is empowered to dictate to his employer on how he or she should be paid.
