COVID-19: 3 Doctors Contract Virus In Nasarawa

Three medical doctors have contracted the coronavirus in Nasarawa State, the state’s Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Bulus Peter Umaru, has disclosed.

The NMA chairman, while explaining the situation, said, “Three medical doctors in Nasarawa State have contracted the coronavirus disease in the course of their work of dealing with patients.”

He said the affected doctors were on admission at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) isolation centre, and are responding to treatment.

Dr Bulus said that the NMA requested its members and other medical personnel to observe personal and environmental hygiene including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to guard against contracting the disease.

He further called on Nasarawa State government to hasten approval for the implementation of hazard allowances to health workers.
