Pregnant woman kicked to death in Ebonyi

A pregnant woman identified as 32-year-old Jane Ekpe has been confirmed dead after being kicked by 34-year-old woman, Florence Ugwu at Okwo Ngbo market in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi State.

Ugwu reportedly kicked Ekpe in the stomach, following a quarrel that ensued between them at the market on July 11. The pregnant woman started bleeding and was rushed to the hospital where she was delivered of the premature baby before she died.

Ebonyi state police spokesperson, Loveth Odah confirmed the incident and also disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Philip Sule Maku has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.
