Walking Dead Star Teases Season 10 Finale's Battle Plan With BTS Photo

The Walking Dead star Briana Venskus teases the heroes' battle plan for the epic season 10 finale. Much like most pieces of entertainment this year, The Walking Dead season 10 hasn't exactly gone to plan. Production on the finale was disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, forcing AMC to delay it by several months. This means fans were left on episode 15 of season 10, "The Tower", which aired back in April. For a while, The Walking Dead season 10 finale remained in limbo, but news broke at Comic-Con@Home that the episode will finally premiere on October 4.

The Walking Dead season 10 finale, ominously titled "A Certain Doom", will pick up where the previous episode left off. A good chunk of the series' protagonists are trapped inside an abandoned hospital as the Whisperers' Beta (Ryan Hurst) leads a terrifying walker horde right to their doorstep. While there are a few characters stranded elsewhere, many of the main characters have been left behind to fight, such as Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride). This episode is expected to serve as the culmination of the Whisperer War, and fans are bracing themselves for an epic fight.

With a little less than a month to go before The Walking Dead season 10 finale, fans now have a bit more insight on what the heroes' battle plan is. In a new picture shared by Venskus (who plays Beatrice), she and McBride are shown covered in blood and guts, which is the typical disguise used to imitate walkers. This tactic has been used before, but it's important to remember that in addition to the walkers, the main characters have to contend with Whisperers hidden in the crowd. You can see the post down below.

The massive scope of this final battle has already been teased several times, with Reedus even going so far as to compare it to Game of Thrones. Carol, Daryl, and the others will have to go up against a horrifying amount of walkers and Whisperers, and it truly feels like the odds are stacked against them. However, there's always a chance this tried and true disguise method could give them an upper hand if they can trick some Whisperers, and additional help might be on the way. After all, The Walking Dead season 10 finale will also feature the triumphant return of Maggie (Lauren Cohan).

While this episode is still considered the season finale, Walking Dead fans got a surprise at Comic-Con@Home when it was announced that season 10 will get six additional episodes. Production on season 11 has been unable to begin in time to roll out this fall as planned, so The Walking Dead will provide some additional material to help make the wait more bearable. Exactly what those new episodes will focus on remains unclear, but the conclusion of The Walking Dead's finale will likely give fans a good idea.
