Stop protesting on internet, speak against fuel, electricity tariff hike – Activist tells Nigerians [PHOTOS]

Nigerians have been advised to stop expressing their grievances on the internet or social media whenever their rights are being abused.

National Coordinator, All Workers Convergence (AWC), Comrade Andrew Emelieze gave this advice when he led a protest organized by some pressure groups and organizations in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Emelieze who spoke while addressing journalists during the protest which was taken to some areas in Ibadan on Tuesday, said that the protest was necessitated due to the increments in price of petrol and electricity tariff.

He called on Nigerians to come out and speak against all forms of oppression instead of expressing their grievances on social media.

Emelieze said that it is high time the masses protested against obnoxious policies of government.

He noted that the Nigerian government was torturing the citizens with the new increments.

He said that the increments made the protesting activists to take to the streets.

Emelieze said, “We are here today with Nigerian students. We are here today due to the high increment. We are here today due to fuel and electricity tariff increments. We are here to say no to bad governance.

And we are calling on all Nigerians. We should not just protest on the internet. We should come out to protest on the streets. We cannot continue to mortgage our future. Enough is enough. The Nigerian government is torturing us and that is why we are saying that this one must stop.
