Early Life

Sergio Ramos was born into a well to do family in Spain. He is one of three children born to Jose María Ramos and Parqui Ramos. Ramos grew up in a city, where Bullfighting was greatly adored, Seville. He soon absorbed the love of Bullfighting common in Seville, and at a tender age, unlike most footballers who begin training in football, Ramos’s eyes were set on becoming a bullfighter. Ramos envisioned a career in Bullfighting, but his parents were not in support of this, due to the risks involved in the sports. But Ramos seemed not to be concerned by that.

With the persuasion of his elder brother, Ramos decided to try out football. On seeing they’re so eager for him to try out a sport other than Bullfighting, his parents gave him their support for football. His parents hired a personal trainer for Ramos. This did a lot in helping Ramos discover his hidden talents.  Ramos then went on to join a local football club, FC Camas. Ramos performed excellently at Camas, earning several individual awards, thanks to his football prowess. Soon the exceptional player antics came across the radar of Sevilla scouts, and he was signed to the club.

Career Summary & Contracts

He followed his champions league triumph with UEFA Super Cup as well as FIFA Club World Cup glory. In 2015, Ramos penned a new five-year deal with Real Madrid. He then assumed the club’s captaincy, permanently.

From the 2016 season to the 2018 season, Ramos captained Real Madrid to UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup glory, an achievement which made him the first captain to attain the feat. In 2017, he once again extended his contract with Real Madrid to 2021. The contract ranked him as one of Real Madrid’s highest-paid stars, with as much as £12 million in salary annually. The 2019 season was trophyless for Madrid, the first time in years, they didn’t claim any silverware. In the 2020 season, Ramos won his 21st trophy, the Supercopa de España with Real Madrid.
