Everton Were The First To Show Interest In Santiago Arias

Atletico Madrid are looking to sell one of their three right backs and Santiago Arias is the one who looks most likely to leave.

After interest from Everton, ‘Radio Caracol’ in Colombia says that Wolves and Newcastle have also asked about him.

Santiago Arias is looking very likely to be the right-back to leave Atletico Madrid. Together with Trippier and Vrsaljko, they are the three who play in that position. Atletico Madrid are listening to offers for the Colombian and he is not short of offers.

This week, ‘Sky Sports’ says that Santiago Arias is one of Everton’s main targets. There has yet to be a formal offer but Everton, who beat Tottenham on Sunday, are looking for a full-back.

Arias’ campaign at Atletico has not been anything to write home about. He joined PSV two seasons back and did well, but last term he played just 1346 minutes in 18 matches. Trippier and Vrsaljko have been used more than him.

Everton are not the only club after the Colombian. ‘Radio Caracol’ says that Newcastle and Wolves have joined in the fight for the Atletico footballer.

Wolves lost Doherty, their main full-back, to Tottenham. Newcastle are looking to strengthen their defence and they think Santiago Arias would be an interesting option.
