Obi-Wan TV Show Flashbacks Could Look Like Live-Action Clone Wars Art

Live-action Star Wars: The Clone Wars art might be teasing fans about Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) and Obi-Wan Kenobi's (Ewan McGregor) reunion in the latter's upcoming Disney+ series. After years of rumors, Lucasfilm finally announced last year that it's bringing back McGregor for the much-clamored Kenobi project. Originally hatched as a film, it was eventually reworked to become a TV series on Disney+.

With McGregor reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the upcoming project, fans have been wondering if there's a chance that Christensen will also return to Star Wars in some form. There have been rumors that Anakin will appear in the aforementioned live-action show which will only run for a season, backed up by another rumor that aside from being set years after Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, it will also feature some flashbacks from the Clone Wars era. This opens up the opportunity for Lucasfilm to re-team Anakin and Obi-Wan despite the Kenobi project being chronologically set after the former friends' falling out in Mustafar followed by the birth of Darth Vader.

Assuming that this is the case, live-action Clone Wars artwork might be giving fans an idea with what to expect from Obi-Wan and Anakin's reunion on screen. It features the two Jedi fighting on the same side with their Clone trooper allies. Check out the image below:

As the years went on, the prequel trilogy, which was once passionately hated by the Star Wars fandom has slowly been accepted for what it is. To be fair, while the films had clunky dialog and bad CGI, all three films tell a coherent overall story that enrichened the franchise's lore. Given this, fans are more accepting of the movies now. Meanwhile, Christensen has also become more comfortable with his connection to Star Wars, having attended Star Wars Celebration in its last two events. Given this, it's not out of the possibility that he'll be open to reprise his role in a small capacity, especially if that means that he'll be able to work again with McGregor whom he spent a considerable amount of time working on the prequels several years ago.

Lucasfilm has remained mum about their future Star Wars plans, but it appears as if they're currently focusing their efforts on the small screen rather than on films with a string of live-action Star Wars shows including Obi-Wan Kenobi and the much-anticipated The Mandalorian season 2 set to roll out next month. At this point, plot details for McGregor's headlining show are still firmly under wraps, especially with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that has forced Hollywood in an essential standstill. Nevertheless, if the project sticks to its production schedule, filming will begin next spring, which means that new information regarding it will eventually come out, hopefully including whether or not Christensen will be back as Anakin.
