Reekado Banks VS Wizkid "Omo Olomo" Saga: Who do you blame? (Let's Talk)

Three days ago, Wizkid and Reekado Banks had a hot clash on Twitter. The ex-Mavin records artist who is now the boss of his own imprint, shared a snippet of his single with Wizkid tagged "Omo Olomo" amidst the heated End Sars protest.

Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon popularly known as Reekado Banks earlier this month revealed he won't be dropping his sophomore album again this year. Reeky succumbed to postponing his project after close consideration of the projects that have dropped this year and the ones that will be unlocked before the year runs out. His decision to withhold his second studio album is only a strategy to ensure it doesn't share the music space with albums like "Twice as Tall" by Burna Boy, "Made In Lagos" by Wizkid, "A Better Time" by Davido, "Celia" by Tiwa Savage, "Carpe Diem" by Olamide amongst others.

All these albums released within the second half of the year are bangers that could pull some media attention away from Reekado Banks's studio album. After serious consideration, Reeky decided to settle with an extended play. According to him, he picked five songs off his sophomore album for the "Off The Record" EP. The EP scheduled to drop this month will feature Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Mr Eazi, Kida Kudz and EO.

On the 15th of October 2020, Reekado Banks took to his verified Twitter handle to share a video snippet of "Omo Olomo" featuring Wizkid off his "Off The Record" EP. Reekado Banks dragged and ultimately called a fool by Wizkid who believes it was unwise of Reeky to try to take advantage of the #ENDSARS protest to share a song. Many people felt disappointed in Reekado Banks while others believed Wizkid went off limit by calling Reekado Banks a fool.

The duo had a cordial relationship before now. Wizkid even featured Reeky on his Starboy Fest at the O2 arena last year. They have equally worked on a couple of tracks including the recent "Turn Up" by DJ Tunez. Hence a few others argued that Wizkid should have reached out to Reeky on private chat to maybe tell him to pull down the post and hold on till the END SARS protest is over.

Let's highlight how they both aired before asking you to be the judge.

Reekada Banks: Reekado Banks didn't err in trying to drop his song amidst the END SARS protest. Personally, I think where he erred is including the #ENDSARS hashtag in the video snippet tweet and secondly for not informing Wizkid before pushing out the song so he too can be aware and support him. If he did this, I'm sure Wizkid would have addressed this error privately.

Wizkid: Reeky has already made the mistake, a simple correction via DM could have avoided this whole drama.
