7 WAYS TO LEARN FASTER AND MORE EFFICIENTLY

At school, we all were trying not to disappoint our parents with a bad grade. But immediately after the test, the knowledge immediately flew away with no hope of ever coming back. Fortunately, cognitive science has figured out how learning works and what to do to make the learning process much better and faster. Here are some tips to learn more effectively.

DIVIDE AND CONQUER

If you want to learn to play the guitar, don't try to repeat the creations of Jimi Hendrix right away. If you want to make profits with betting on sports, don’t spend all your money and time even on good virtual platforms, such as online sports betting with a licence. Set smaller, more achievable goals for yourself. So, if you want to learn guitar, first learn a few simple chords, a little fiddle, a little fiddle, and then put it all together. Over time, the fractional knowledge will combine into one big ability to play guitar perfectly.

CONCENTRATE

Multitasking doesn't work, especially for storing new information. The brain can't pay equal attention to two tasks at the same time. Set a small goal (look at the previous point) and devote all your energy to it. If you get distracted, it takes your brain about 25 minutes to refocus on the original task, and this only leads to knowledge becoming superficial and shaky.

GET IT WRONG

Perfection is unattainable, and that's a good thing. The whole point of learning is to try, fail, realize what went wrong, and draw conclusions. Our brain even has a special "room" for mistakes. They are stored so that you can always go back to them, analyze them and come to the necessary conclusions. That's what makes knowledge-rich and varied.

STAY OPTIMISTIC

"Anxiety keeps new solutions from being explored and keeps fresh thoughts from emerging," says Harvard Business School professor Alison Brooks Wood. A fixation on failure and mistakes with anxiety and uncertainty stifles any ability to learn.

 READ FASTER

If you read faster, you learn faster. There are special programs that help you read at progressively faster speeds. With practice, you can read whole sentences and lines rather than individual words, which speeds up the learning process considerably.

USE ANALOGIES

If you're faced with something you can't understand, try making analogies to something you already know well. This practice is called associative learning. A student likes to play soccer, but differential equations don't appeal to him yet. If he can see the connection between kicking the ball and integrating, he can almost certainly master more complex abstract concepts.

TEACH OTHER PEOPLE THINGS YOU HAVE LEARNED

When you put your newfound knowledge into words and teach someone, you're not only demonstrating your skill, but you’re also achieving a deeper understanding of the topic. That's why older siblings tend to be smarter-it's just their job to teach younger ones. Try teaching other people things you have learned.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, learning new information and new skills is not quite easy. But you can make this process faster and more efficient with just some steps and tricks. And don’t forget about the main thing about learning and studying: enjoy what you do, and the process will bring you success!
