The Wild Robot Release Date Set for DreamWorks Animated Movie

Per Deadline, Universal Pictures has announced The Wild Robot release date for DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming film adaptation of Peter Brown’s bestselling children’s book of the same name.

The action-adventure movie is scheduled to make its debut in theaters on September 20, 2024, pitting it against no direct competition. However, it will be debuting in the same month as three other high-profile films, including Beetlejuice 2, Transformers One, and Saw XI.

What to expect in The Wild Robot movie?

The Wild Robot is directed by acclaimed animated filmmaker Chris Sanders, who’s best known for his works on iconic movies such as Croods, How to Train Your Dragon, and Lilo & Stitch. Described as an epic journey, the story centers around a robot named Roz, who finds himself stranded on an uninhabited island. The project will be produced by long-time Kung Fu Panda producer Jeff Hermann.

“When robot Roz opens her eyes for the first time, she discovers that she is alone on a remote, wild island. Why is she there? Where did she come from? And, most important, how will she survive in her harsh surroundings?” reads the book’s official synopsis.
