Violent Night 2 and Nobody 2 Get Positive Updates From Producer

Producer Kelly McCormick says plans are currently underway to expand the worlds within the 2021 action thriller Nobody and the 2022 Christmas action comedy Violent Night. Both of the film’s actors, Bob Odenkirk and David Harbour, have also previously expressed their interest in reprising their respective roles, increasing the probability of sequels coming to fruition.

McCormick served as one of the producers for the two films, which both received praise due to their compelling premises of having protagonists who are — at first glance – -deemed incapable of carrying out a bloody fight.

Nobody and Violent Night sequels are still in the works

Speaking with Collider during this year’s SXSW, McCormick and David Leitch (also one of Nobody and Violent Night’s producers) revealed that sequel plans for both films are currently in progress.

“We are planning on returns to those universes. Hopefully, honestly, even potentially end of this year for Nobody 2 and, beginning of next year for Violent Night 2, if we can find time in everybody’s busy schedules. But the development’s going super well and everybody’s really, really excited about moving those worlds forward,” said McCormick.

McCormick added that scripts are already being written: “We’re well into a couple of drafts and things are going super well, but there’s still a little work to do.”

Meanwhile, Leitch said that Universal Pictures is totally “invested” into turning the mentioned films into franchises and that both of the movie’s main leads were “fired up” to return for a sequel.

Nobody follows a seemingly unassertive man named Hutch Mansell (Odenkirk), whose experience with burglars led him to finally fight for himself and protect his family, which only resulted in a violent war with a Russian mafia boss. In Violent Night, Harbour plays the legendary figure Santa Claus, whose unrivaled fighting abilities came in handy when a group of mercenaries broke into a mansion on Christmas Eve.
