“I met up with @its_lynxxx sometime December 2017 at the Unusual Praise concert as hosted by his home church. It was our first time sitting down to talk since his salvation experience. Not only was I excited to hear from someone who had a similar Damascus Road experience with me coming from the music industry, but his transformational story and faith journey was intriguing and full of inspiration. There and then I started receiving the prompt to write a song about this sudden turning point in the life of a musician, especially in the light of the trappings of fame, success and celebrity in the secular music industry. It’s a testimony to the power and work of the Holy Spirit to publicly declare faith in Jesus despite that pop star status. I went back to my hotel room to wait out the morning and unexpectedly the first words and the chords of this song started coming “Packed up my bags/Gone completely…” .The Life Of Testimony is first of all a declaration that the faith life is the best life, a decision to first believe and now practically live by Grace, the life offered by the One whom we celebrate at Christmas. It is not a lifetime of ease, but it is a life of Grace, peace, peace of mind and the assurance of victory through every vicissitude of life and ultimately unto eternal life.Secondly this song is a reminder that if you have personally accepted the Son of God and live for Him, you are a living walking testimony and your testimony is assured in every challenge of life as you grow in your walk and Christ is formed in you. There is no longer time to pocket and hide our faith for any reason at all.
