She penned the song with the group and Baby Love, who also served as co-producer.

The song’s subject matter centers on the death of a loved one and how the protagonist took their presence for granted and miss them.

On November 14, 1995, Columbia Records released the song as the second single from the album, receiving great acclaim from critics and music pundits.
