Beyoncé - Listen

Listen is an R&B soul song by American singer Beyoncé, for the soundtrack to the 2006 musical film Dreamgirls.

Beyoncé wrote the song with Scott Cutler, Henry Krieger and Anne Preven, whereas The Underdogs helmed the production with Randy Spendlove and Matt Sullivan.

Columbia Records released the track as the lead single from the Dreamgirls: Music from the Motion Picture soundtrack album on December 5, 2006. It was also housed on the deluxe edition of Beyoncé‘s 2007 second solo studio album, B’Day.

After its release, the single attracted major positive reviews from contemporary music critics and recorded relative success on music charts, peaking within the top ten in various countries.

Despite only reaching Number 61 on the Billboard Hot 100, Listen won Best Original Song at the 2007 Critics’ Choice Awards.

It boasts of a gold certification in the UK as well.
