True Colors is a song penned by American songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly.
In 1986, American singer Cyndi Lauper recorded it and it was released as both the title track and first single from her second studio album of the same name.
The single was commercially successful, topping the US Billboard Hot 100 and charts in Canada. It also reached Number 12 in the UK.
True Colors has also been certified platinum in the US and gold in Canada.
Tidbit: This was the last single from Lauper to top of the Billboard Hot 100.
