Shekarau Defends Jonathan as a Protector of Muslim Rights

The Minister of Education, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, has defended President Goodluck Jonathan’s disposition as a protector of Muslim rights in the national scheme of things.


Shekarau contended that the PDP is not a sectional party as it represents the interests of both Muslims and Christians in the country.

The education minister said using religion as a manipulative agent for gaining cheap political advantage was very unnecessary, baseless and shows of cowardice.
Addressing a large crowd on Wednesday at the kickoff of the PDP campaign in the state and handing over of flags for the gubernatorial candidate and other candidates vying for different elective offices under the banner of the party in the state Shekarau said.


“Anybody who thinks the PDP is a party that treats its members on the basis of religious affiliation is bias and economical with the truth.
That is why we are saying so long as we need genuine and proper development for our country we should vote for the PDP”.
The education minister called on the thousands of the supporters that attended the event, to vote for the party from presidency down to the state House of Assembly.
He promised that the opposition party would be unable to deceive right thinking Nigerians to get enough votes in the coming elections.
“With all the developmental projects by this administration, the opposition party should know that the PDP is already ahead of them before the proper election comes.”
In his address also, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Bashir Wali, said the PDP is the only national party in the country.
“Our party, the PDP, will continue to do justice to all Nigerians. Whoever thinks he or she can get justice in the other party that person is deceiving himself.”
