How Chelsea snubbed Mbappe move

Chelsea rejected the chance to sign Kylian Mbappe four years ago for just £17,000.

According to Mirror Sport, the France striker visited Stamford Bridge as a 14-year-old, but the Blues snubbed him, choosing to promote Dominic Solanke and Tammy Abraham from their academy.

At the time Mbappe was playing for amateur French side Bondy, where his dad Wilfried was a coach.

Mbappe’s representatives tried to tempt Chelsea into doing a deal, by telling them Real Madrid were also keen on the player, but the stunt did not work.

The Monaco forward eventually went to Clairefontaine academy and has grown to become one of the most sought after talents in the world, with most of Europe’s top clubs looking to sign him this summer.
