3-yr-old orphan dies in auto crash, one year after mother’s death

A 3-year old boy whose mother died barely a year ago, Friday, lost his own life in a ghastly motor accident while crossing the road for an errand.

Saturday Vanguard gathered that the boy whose name could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report, was crossing Aku Street Road, Ogui New Layout, Enugu, in the early hours of yesterday when a Toyota Sienna car, hit him in front of his grandmother.

The boy was later rushed to a private hospital where he gave up the ghost. It was also gathered that the boy lost his mother on the first of December, 2015 when she went to the market and slumped while he himself died in an accident on December 2, just a year and a day his mother died.

An eyewitness who saw the boy when he was hit said that he knew that by the blood he lost he would not make it.

“I knew that he would not make it because he lost a lot of blood. I pity the child. Her mother died just a year ago leaving him in the care of his grandmother who sells Akara for a living,” the source laments.
