Be Without You is an R&B soul song recorded by American recording artist Mary J. Blige, for her 2005 seventh studio album, The Breakthrough.
It was written by Blige, Johnta Austin, Bryan Michael Cox and Jason Perry, and produced by Cox and Ron Fair.
The track was released as the first official single from the album on September 15, 2005 and eventually became one of Blige’s most successful singles to date.
Be Without You peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 but topped every other chart in the US. The single ranked among the most played songs on US radio in the year 2006 and was also certified double-platinum in 2007.
Most noteworthy, Be Without You won the Grammy awards for Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 2007 Grammy Awards.
