Eagles on course for Afcon 2015 ticket, says Raheem Lawal

Nigeriainternational Raheem Lawalis confident that the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Africa Champions face Congo in a make or break encounter in Pointe-Noire on November 15.
According to the Eskisehierspor player, the game against Claude le Roy’s men will be tough but the Eagles will give the encounter their all towards securing maximum point that will brighten their Africa Cup of Nations chances.

"The game [against Congo] will be very tough but I can assure you that we will return home with a win,” Lawal toldGoal.
"On a personal note, I’m looking forward to the game, and if I get an invite from the national team selectors, it will be business as usual as I’ll be ready to spill my blood for the country’s success.

"The Congolese are a very strong side and we won’t underestimate them and if they could get a win in Nigeria, then I don’t see anything stopping us from paying them back before their home fans.
The 24-year-old midfielder is not perturbed that the game will be played on an artificial turf insisting the Eagles are determined to win wherever the game is taken to.
"It doesn’t matter where Congo will take us to, all that matter is a good win. We [Eagles] are aware of the importance of the game and we have no excuse to fail,” he added.
He concluded applauding the appointment of coach Amodu Shuaibu to lead the Nigeria in the last two qualifying games saying he is relishing the prospect of playing under him.
"He is a very great manager and I have a lot of respect for him. I can’t wait to play under him or anyone picked to handle the national team. We are all working for the interest of the country and I wish him the very best,” he concluded.
With four points, Nigeria are behind leaders South Africa (nine points) and Congo (seven points) but ahead of Sudan (three points) going into the final round of the qualifiers.
