Manchester United Players Are Shrinking Under Pressure – Roy Keane

Manchester United’s players are ‘shrinking’ under the weight of expectation, according to Roy Keane, who has said he’s been ‘saddened’ by his former club’s decline in recent years.

A 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Old Trafford on Thursday night saw United exit the Europa League at the last-16 stage and the 20-times English champions still face a fight to finish in the Premier League top four.

It’s a stark contrast to the Red Devils team under the captaincy of Keane, who won the treble in 1999 and secured seven top-flight titles with United, and the 44-year-old looked glum as he expressed his emotions at his old team’s plight during a punditry stint on ITV.

The former United captain was speaking after his old side crashed out of the Europa League.
